.A “Window Over Modica” With A Modern Antiques Flavour
This charming “house with a view” is a gem in Modica Alta's alleys. just few steps above Corso Umberto, which is Modica Bassa main road.
In this charming “window over Modica” the essential white walls are well blended with the antique pietra pece floor tiles and a modern antique furniture
Is the kitchen the first room that welcomes our guests, and has been created with the concept of mixing a bistro and a lab where to experiment the Sicilian cuisine or where you can be the chef and try yourself to cook the local recipes.
The bathroom is a triumph of ancient majolica and pietra pece, the bedroom is a private place, minimal, where the bed is the unquestioned star under the high ceiling.
Then, the heart of the house is ready for the guests: the living room, where the baroque of Modica becomes part of the architectural. The perfect place to enjoy everything, from meditation, music, reading and also the place where to share those lovely meals that you just cooked.
More practical info:
Casa Francavilla is 5 minutes walking from Duomo di San Giorgio and 10 minutes walking from the center of Modica Bassa .
Near the Duomo there are buses that links up the two town “Alta” and “Bassa” . (“High” and “Low”)
The house is heated with a pellet stove for the winter time and we have high ceiling fan for the summer heat.
A washing machine is also available and you can hang your clothes to dry (just like the old fashion way) on a small balcony.
The sheets are changed weekly, while the towels are changed twice a week
“Casa Francavilla 15” is a wider project born within 4 professional people which fell in love with Val di Noto, its landscape and cities.
Each professional (a journalist, an architect, an editor and a digital economy entrepreneur) brought in this project their own experience, sensitiveness and motivation so to offer to guests a warm but as well stimulating welcome.
“Our conviction is that welcoming means as well sharing”, that's why we want to share with our guests the places and flavors that we like and that we still discover in bringing to life our dream.
This is why we created the “welcome basket ” a basket with some tastes of our land to enjoy at breakfast, products made locally, a reminder of what you need to taste within your staying and just like the “Italian way” bring it back with you when you leave this enchanting land.
But we also are delighted to share the elements that you can find in our home: the modern antique furniture, Sergio Fiorentino and Giuseppe Minaldi paintings, Lelio Zuccalà pictures , Kiphy's soaps
These are friends that helped us in developing this project and if your are willing you can buy “a piece” of your vacation house from the one who made them
