Pembrokeshire is a very special place in south west wales with a climate similar to south west England influenced by the Gulf Stream ocean currents. It has more "blue flag" beaches than any other region in Wales, and being predominantly a holiday area it also has more holiday attractions and activities for all ages. The 186 mile long coast path starts in the south, just yards from Black Hall Cottage, and continues all the way around the peninsular to St.Dogmaels in the north of the county.
The beach at Amroth is washed by the tide twice in 24 hours, providing several miles of clean sand. At low water it is possible to walk from the cottage all thge way around the bay to Monkstone Point and from there to Tenby via the coast path, returning on the cliff top walk via Saundersfoot and Wiseman's Bridge. The area is within the National Park, and there are several walks around Colby Woodland Gardens in Amroth. If you like to eat out there are several good pubs and restaurants in the area.
