Assisi is the home of Saint Francis, his legacy resonates throughout the town. The frescoes of the upper Basilica are a not-to-be-missed attraction among the most important in Italy. The history of the saint and the Franciscan orders have shaped the town over the centuries. Beautiful walks are available leading along the way of Saint Francis both north and south along the pre-Appenines hills of central Italy.
The center of the ancient city is quiet due to the preponderance of religious orders housed throughout the town and the nature of local tourism, despite being one of the most-visited sites in Italy. There are numerous restaurants near the apartment as well as other services.
