Our comfortable, renovated cottage is located in a small village close to the town of Revel, famous for it's superb Saturday morning market. The cottage is adjoined to our own home and has been equipped to be 'home from home'. It has two double bedrooms, a farmhouse style kitchen / diner, lounge and bathroom. It enjoys a good level of privacy together with stunning views across the Lauragais valley towards the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire.

Ideally located between Carcassonne (55km) and Toulouse (45km), it is convenient for walking and cycling in the local area or for exploring the wider region. Albi, Castres, Lautrec, Castelnaudary, Carcassonne, Toulouse and the Canal du Midi are all within one hour travelling distance. The Pyrenees mountains and Mediterranean beaches are approx. 100km away. We have gathered a large collection of visitor information on the region from which you will be able to choose the places you would most like to visit.

There are many local restaurants where you can enjoy local speciality dishes such as Cassoulet, Toulouse sausage, Foie Gras and Aligot. The nearest boulangeries are 3km away and our closest restaurant is less than 1km.

First Floor: Bathroom with shower over bath, WC and wash basin. 2 bedrooms: 1 kingsize, 1 double.

All linen, towels and tea-towels provided (free).

Outside area: Lawned garden, patio, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars.

Services: Electric heating - all fuel and power included in rent May to September, £40 per week supplement October to April (which has been added into the tarif shown).

The Midi-Pyrénées region

En Croux is situated near the towns of Revel, St Felix Lauragais, Soreze and Castelnaudary. It is close to the Montagne Noire, Lac St Ferreol and the Canal du Midi.

It is in the Lauragais valley, in the Haute Garonne département (31) but close to the borders of both the Tarn (81) and Aude (11). It is ideally placed for touring this area. It has rolling countryside, lakes, canal, mountains and historic Cathar castles all on it's doorstep.

There are even 2 world heritage sites nearby- the 16th century Canal du Midi and the medieval city of Carcassonne, a must see castle with it's 52 towers.


Within easy travelling distance:

Local: Revel offers a rich assortment of shops and a famous Saturday Market, the essence of French country living. High above Revel lies the Lac St Ferreol, one of the feeder lakes for the Canal du Midi, with its sandy beach, walks, restaurants and bars.

North: the town of Castres with the Goya museum and famous medieval waterfront. Albi, capital of the Tarn, with it's stunning brick built cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec museum, vineyards of the Gaillac region.

West: Toulouse (the pink city), a modern vibrant city with excellent shopping facilities, architecture and the arts. Space city (cité espace) and Airbus visitor centres.

East: Carcassonne, Limoux, Cathar castles, vineyards and the mediterranean coast.

South: Medieval towns of Mirepoix and Foix and the Pyrenees mountains.
