The property shares a large swimming pool with the owners and has sun loungers and a beautiful pool side area for sunbathing. Situated just 3 kms from the village of Meyrals where you will find a bar/restaurant and two further restaurants, a bakers and butchers and post office. Meyral is known as the village of artists and scarecrows. We have several artists who are open to visitors as well as 3 art galleries and a scarecrow festival is held over the last weekend of July each year. The beautiful medieval town of Sarlat is just 12kms where you will find a large selection of shops, restaurants, bars, historic buildings and two markets a week. St Cyprien and the Dordogne river are 7 kms from the appartment, where again you will find a selection of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and a selection of other shops. St Cyrpien has a very lively market each Sunday morning and Night Markets on a Thursday evening during July and August. Taking a canoe down the Dordogne is a marvelous experience and a very good service is provided in St Cyprien as well as many other locations along the Dordogne river. Les Eyzies, the capital of French pre-history, is 7 kms and boasts museums, caves with original paintings and the Vezere river. You can also enjoy short trips to Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Castelnaud, Rocamadour, Monpazier, Bergerac, Perigueux and a host of other stunning villages and towns.

Les Chenes is located in the countryside of Perigord Noir. Whilst in a tranquil setting, we are close to all amenities, villages and the beautiful city of Sarlat. The European capital of Pre-history, Les Eyzies is just a short drive away, where you can discover how our ancestors lived and worked. Take the route of the Vezere and discover the Roque St Christophe, Lascaux and it's amazing cave of paintings. Canoing down the Vezere or the Dordogne is a wonderful way to see the marvels of the Dordogne and we are well equiped with canoe hire on both rivers. Hot air balooning is another was of taking in the wonders of the Dordogne and a service is available just a short drive away. There are so many things to do in the wonderful region, or, if you prefer, you can enjoy the numerous walks, bike rides or horse treks in the area.
