L'escale couldn't be any nearer to the River Dordogne without actually being afloat. Situated on the riverbank next to a beautiful sandstone bridge on the outskirts of the charming village of Siorac-en-Périgord, in the historical and breathtaking Périgord Noir area of the Dordogne.

Our 3 double rooms (which are all furnished with double beds) are all non smoking, have large en suite shower rooms and overlook our private garden and the river. Prices start from as little as 49 Euros a night.

Our 2 family rooms (which are furnished with 1 x double and 1 x single bed) can be found on our other listing ref. 6961198.

We also have a large fully licensed bar and a covered outside terrace that has breathtaking views over the River Dordogne. Food is also served here and you can choose from regional dishes, our selection of pizzas or our interactive hot stone "L'Grill" menu - a fun and different dining experience.

L'escale has a private car park and secure storage for fishing/golfing gear and bikes.

There is easy access to the riverbank, which is a popular spot for relaxing, taking a dip in the river, hiring a canoe or fishing. We are also less than 3kms to 2 golf courses (a nine hole and an 18 hole)

The Dordogne region

It is easy to see why this area has been called the valley of a thousand and one chateaux as towers, turrets and pigeoniers can be viewed at almost every turn. Along with the medieval villages, stunning scenery and great food and wine it is understandable why the Périgord Noir is one of the most visited areas of France. So we are going to let you in on a secret.......April, May, June and September!! The weather is generally beautiful, the prices are significantly lower and there are noticeably fewer people. Walk, drive and sightsee all of the wonderful attractions in peace and calm, the way a holiday should be. It is such a fabulous area with so many great things to do and see we would like you to see it at its best - but don't tell everyone!

Siorac-en-Périgord

Situated on the main route from Bergerac (45 mins) to Sarlat (25 mins) L'escale is 5 minutes walk away from the charming village centre of Siorac-en-Périgord with its sleepy railway station, church, post office and tourist information. As well as our own Terrace Bar there are other bars and restaurants within walking distance and many more than I can mention here within a short drive.

As well as the fishing and canoeing at the end of the garden there is a 9 hole compact golf course within a 15 minute walk and also a par 72 (5,893m) 18 hole course less than 3kms drive away. Tennis courts are just 2 minutes walk and bikes, ponies, even hot air balloons can all be hired locally. Families can also rest assured that their children will be kept entertained with prehistory, air and waterparks all within a short drive. There are gardens, caves and castles as rich and diverse as the people who come to see them. We have a huge amount of leaflets and information to help you plan your days and are always at hand to help and advise. Our aim is to be as hospitable as possible and make your stay with us as pleasantly memorable as it can be.
