The Peak District is a beautiful region with miles and miles of country walking, climbing, cycling and all kinds of outdoor pursuits on your doorstep. Hire a bicycle at Blackwell Mill or Hassop Station and ride through the newly opened tunnels between Buxton and Bakewell on the Monsal trail, visit historic Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, wander through the local market towns of Bakewell and Buxton, swim in an outdoor heated swimming pool at Hathersage, experience a natural Cavern in Castleton, there are many things to see and do.
The Peak District is also a good base for exploring the Heart of England and North of England and for visiting Alton Towers. There are lots of country pubs in our region, many that also accept dogs and serve fabulous food. A perfect way to relax after enjoying the outdoors.
Tideswell Food festival is in May, wakes time in June, July and August in our region, so you might be able to see Welldressings being made and join in the festivities at a local carnival.
Litton is a picturesque chocolate box village, popular with walkers and has a highly regarded dog friendly pub serving food with additional outdoor seating on the green and a village shop. Litton is within walking distance of Tideswell, famed for its "Cathedral of the Peak" and Tideswell School of Food.
Tideswell is a charming village with many amenities including pubs, cafés, post office, second hand bookshop, butcher's greengrocer's and gift shops. There are miles and miles of country walks literally from your doorstep and good bus links to other towns and villages.
