Peschici

Ancient historic centre from year 970, dramatically situated on a cliff 80 m above the waves, directly on the Adriatic Coast. Winter population of the village is around 5 000 inhabitants.Being protected by the Holy St Elia, Peschici has its major annual religious spectacle in the period between 17th and 22nd July. However you will find both this village and the surrounding villages in celebrating both their own and any catholic or worldly celebrity at any occasion throughout the year. In fact you would find it hard not to find any spectacle of cultural, popular or religious carachter going on in the summer season in this region.
