Donna's Cottage is a newer open-living cottage which sleeps 4 comfortably. The cozy cottage has insulated double stone walls & raised ceramic tiled floors. There is central heat and air-conditioning plus an extra heating unit in the bathroom as well as two extra cool ceiling fans above the beds and dining table. It has a double bed curtained off from a pull-out double daybed & a hanging clothes & luggage rack. The large bathroom has a sit-down tub with a removable shower nozzle surrounded by Taratine marble tiles as well as a vanity & dressing area. The kitchen is fully furnished with newer units & appliances with a good sized table & four chairs. All the windows are doubled for insulation & screened for fresh bug-free air flow. Guests can eat 'al fresco' under the wooden veranda, de-stress while lounging in the lawn chairs, float on an air mattress in the 5X3 above-ground pool (Jun-Sep) or relax on the hammock while star-gazing. Kids can play in the large pine-shaded garden nearby which has a swing set, play house, see-saw, basketball hoop & a picnic bench. The cottage rests on lush green grounds (Nov-Jun timeframe after the Almond crop is harvested in Sep). We have over 65 varied almond trees which guests are encouraged to try (especially good toasted). There is an organic fruit orchard with figs, pears, apples, oranges, peaches, grapes, lemons fresh for the picking-eating during their season as well as numerous 'Fichia di India' prickly pear cactus fruits & other varieties to eat or admire.

There is a 400sqm enclosed soccer-football camp for picnics, camping, kids, pets, etc. and pleny of bikes to enjoy on the large paved areas or adjacent bike trail which leads to the WWF Torre Guaceto nature reserve-beach-musuem 8kms away. There are plenty of sites & cities to visit within an hour: three UNESCO sites of Alberobello-'Trulli City' & pre-historic 'Rock city' of Matera, as well as the Castel del Monte in Foggia plus the Castellana Caves, Ignanzia ruins, & Baroque cities of Leece & Martina Franca to enjoy. Spend a day driving North up the coast to Polignano di Mare, Monopoli, Bari or the Gargano lake areas, or head south to Leece, Otranto, & Santa Maria de Leuca at the bottom of the boot where the Adriatic & Ionian seas meet. Head slightly west to the Ionian seaside of Puglia to visit Gallipoli or Potenza to see how the Romans made their way down to Brindisi & Leece where you can visit the ancient columns which marked the original 'Appian way' trail. Sit-back, relax & enjoy a bottle of Puglia's great Salento wines (Primitivo, Negroamaro (including blushes), Falanghina, Fiano, Verdeca or Chardonnay) and many more which are available at any one of many supermarkets, enotecas or ask about our customized wine tours where you can buy at wholesale prices (ck out our winetourspuglia site or ask me about your 25% guest-only discount). Enjoy snacking on tradtional Pugliese bread twists with the best olive oil and vegatable patès in the world. Don't miss the beaches which from mid-April to early October are warm enough to enjoy. There are both sandy & rocky shores, internationally recognized by 49 countries & garner 'Blue Flag-Bandiera Blu' ratings due to their balance of natural beauty, cleanliness & respect for their environment. Fresh produce, excellent fresh-cut meats and of course homemade ice-cream, breads, cheeses, wines, oils, patès & pasta are abundent in this small area as are friendly English & Italian speaking folks. Oh, and don't forget some of the freshest seafood in the world!

The cottage is easily accessed by either the front via Brindisi SS16/SP1 bis private gate or the shared gate located off the back country access road (c.da Specchia di Mare). We are centrally located between the port city of Brindisi & the hillside 'white city' of Ostuni as well as equally between Bari & Leece cities & airports. Guests can easily reach us by train, plane or boat in either Brindisi, Bari, or even Naples or Rome. A car is not needed but recommended with lots to see & do nearby but ask me about our low-cost private driver service if you want to forgo the costs & hassles of hiring a car. There is a public bus stop within 300 meters for city-city access or we can take and-or guide you anywhere in or near Puglia.
