This 200 year old stone farmhouse, meticulously restored, is the private summer residence of a Norwegian art collector. Nesteled in the foothills of the Mont Sainte Victoire, famous mountain often paited by Cezanne, the owner offers the estate in winter/spring to artists from all over the world as a place to work in the "footsteps of Cezanne" - who painted many of his most famous paintings near the Mas. Over 30 international artists have enjoyed this free privilege over the years.

In order to support the artists program, this private home is made avaialble to families or groups of friends on a weekly basis when there are no seminars or the owner and his family is not there themselves .

Situated 20 km east of Aix en Provence, the traditional farm house offers more than 600 m2 of living space and is surrounded by a 3 acre garden of Mediterranean flowers, trees and 7ha of vineyards. Mulberry trees, planted 120 years ago and a 200 year old oak tree offer shade during the heat of the day. There is a large swimming pool and a tennis court. There is a 1888 Bechstein grande piano in the music room having been played by renowned pianists, and the art gallery can be used for meetings and seminars .

The Mas des Graviers is ideal for retreats and Family gatherings, and has hosted many weddings. A cosy local hotel and a nearby monastery (in St. Maximin la Sainte Baume) can host additional guests.

The Mas offers many outdoor activities in its direct vicinity such as hiking around for hours or climbing Mount Ste. Victoire or cycling and horse riding. The Golf du Chateau D'Arc and Golf de la Sainte-Baume are two acclaimed golf courses in the immediate vicinity.

The location is excellent for exploring the heart of Provence, with only 20 minutes to the center of Aix and 50 minutes to Marseille or the seaside port of Cassis with its white cliffs, famous and well known in the world of rock climbers. Cannes and Nice are only 90 minutes away. Easy day trips take you to Camargue, Arles, Nîmes and Avignon.

There are different colourful markets around; the nearest is on Wednesdays in the town of St. Maximin La St. Baume, also known for its magnificent cathedral with the crypt and relics of Marie Magdalene. The largest is in Aix En Provence on Saturdays, 20 minutes from the vineyard..

Also we offer pâtisserie courses. Don't hesitate to ask for further information on this.

The Provence region

The region around Aix en Provence is the most typical and pleasant region of Southern France. The vineyard is peacefully nestled among vinegrowing etates, away from the busy Cote d'Azure of mass tourism, and still only less nan an hour by car to the great beaches of Cassis , Bandol or le Ciotat, and 90 minutes from St.Tropez or Cannes / Nice .

Provence has a wonderful climate throughout the year. The vineyard is loacted 350 meter above sealevel, at the foot of the Mt. Saint Victoire, which means that it is not too hot at the peak of the summer and a light evening breeze brings fresh air down the Rhone Valley

The villages of Luberon, the old monestaries at Silvacane, and the roman cities of Arles and Nimes are easily reached on a day trip. And the music festivals of Avignon or Aix en Provence offer rich cultural programs

Hiking and bicycling on quite paths and country roads provide a real Insight into the magic of Provence

We have several golf courses 20 and 40 minutes away , and horseback riding can be arranged in nearby villages.
