The pleasant district of Montmartre
The apartment is located "Butte Montmartre", behind "Place du Tertre" (famous for its painters), the vineyard "St Vincent", and the cabaret "Le Lapin agile". It is a village in the City, and you'll enjoy strolling in the preserved picturesque alleyways. It's been an animated place since... King Henri IV. You will find large typical parisian "brasseries" (pubs) (Amélie Poulain, Café Franoeur), all sorts of restaurants, sidewalk cafés, art galeries, artist's ateliers, designer's shops... Concert halls, revues, Theaters, movies (La Fémis). Antiques, flee-markets, traditional shops of all kinds, refined bakeries and delicatessen.
The "Montmartrobus" shuttle serpentines through this life where you can still meet the artists and intellectual who made its celebrity.
Not far south : the area "Les Abbesses" and rue Lepic, South again, the boulevard and its Theatres, East : Place Clichy (walking distance through the Cimetary of Montmartre), Nord, la rue du Poteau, with its food markets.
From Metro lamarck-Caulaincourt (2 steps from the flat) you can easily reach the Center of Paris, go to Le Louvre, The Eiffel Tower, Musée d'Orsay, etc...
