Get ready for the most magical glamorous-camping experience... Glamping at La Blanquette! Imagine falling asleep under the fairy-lit canvas and then waking up to the beautiful golden rays of sunlight filtering through the trees as the sun rises over the Dordogne valley.
La Blanquette Glamping consists of two luxury bell tents, Chene Vert and Truffe Noir, each with their own kitchen hut and shower room and the use of a beautiful and sparkling swimming pool, located just 7km outside of Sarlat-La-Caneda in a location which combines the best of both worlds - peaceful rural countryside and bustling town life. Each tent can sleep up to a maximum of four people.
Chene Vert has a proper double bed with comfortable mattress (yes proper beds!), two extra thick 3ft futon mattresses, jute matting, hand painted bedside tables and beautiful fairy lights to provide light and ambiance. We also supply LED lanterns and lighting and pathways are light by solar lights.
The tents are nestled into the magical woodlands that surround La Blanquette. Each tent has its own kitchen hut, private bathroom (with electricity so that you are able to charge up those (non)essentials), outside dining area and barbecue. There is a waterproof shelter provided for outside dining on the occasion where we may get some summer rain. There is storage inside the tents as well as the ability to store items in the lockable kitchen huts and private bathrooms.
There is wifi available in the tents and around the pool.
Tents have the use of a washing machine.
As a gift from us to you a welcome basket containing locally baked bread, cheese, butter, milk, biscuits and a bottle of one of our favourite French wines, will be provided for you in your kitchen hut on arrival.
During your stay in Chene Vert you will feel at one with the environment and surrounded by nature yet you are only steps away from the fabulous amenities offered by La Blanquette, including a newly installed boules court and our fun Champagne Shed!
There are two restaurants, a farm shop and an organic grocery store within walking distance.
We provide bike hire and canoe hire on site. We are located just a short distance away from the mainly flat cycle path the Voie-Verte - cycling the Voie Verte is a wonderful way to see the small towns and beautiful countryside of our region. As well as seeing the scenery from the saddle why not rent a canoe from us for the day? You'll see gorgeous wildlife and stunning chateaux while taking a gentle paddle down the river. We will transport you and the boat to and from the beautiful Dordogne river and even provide you with a picnic if you choose!
La Blanquette is not suitable for young children but those over 12 are welcome.

The Dordogne region of south-west France is one of the most beautiful and popular destinations in the country. This beautiful region of France has many chateaux, wonderful medieval towns and villages and stunning unspoiled countryside.
As well as Sarlat the many amazing sights and places to visit in the Dordogne include Lascaux caves; Marqueyssac gardens; Beynac - for kayaking on the Dordogne; Chateau Castelnaud; prehistoric caves in the Vezere Valley, and many more.
Dordogne is the 3rd largest department in France. It enjoys a varied and temperate climate, the winters are a bit colder than in the UK and the summer's are glorious with the average temperature during summer time being 30°C. Autumnal days are generally bright with clear blue skies and can be surprisingly warm even into November. Spring days are crisp and bright and a joy to experience.
Sarlat is a few kilometres north of the River Dordogne. It is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin.
Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th century France. It owes its current status on France's Tentative List for future nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage site to the enthusiasm of writer, resistance fighter and politician André Malraux, who, as Minister of Culture (1960–1969), restored the town and many other sites of historic significance throughout France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free.
Sarlat is a pleasure to walk around, especially during the spring and autumn, or early in the morning. If you can catch the early morning sunshine on the yellow sandstone buildings, so much the better. Before setting off for your walk around Sarlat, visit the tourist office which can provide a suggested walking tour to take in the key attractions. The tourist information office is near to the cathedral.
Sarlat has many many restaurants, bars and cafes and one of the many joys of staying in Sarlat is discovering them!
