Completed in 2009, Villa Alexander is one of only 4 beautifully designed villas that make up the small, exclusive development of Gennadi Hills. The 2 bedroom fully air-conditioned villa boasts a private pool & gardens and is located on the edge of the traditional, year round village of Gennadi on the South East coast of Rhodes. Villa Alexander is ideally situated in peaceful surroundings yet just a few minutes stroll to the village centre where there is a good range of facilities including supermarket, bakery, green-grocery, pharmacy, medical centre, motor cycle hire, ATM and a number of bars and tavernas. A further short walk takes you to one of the island's coveted blue flag beaches and beach front tavernas. The villa's split level, air-conditioned ground floor comprises a fully fitted kitchen, lounge, separate dining area and bathroom. The two en-suite bedrooms on the first floor have their own private sea view balconies and air-conditioning. 2 additional folding guest beds and a travel cot are available if required. WIFI internet is provided free of charge.

Outside is the South facing private pool (7.5 by 3.5 metre) which is treated and maintained on a regular basis, a secure garden area with lawn and flower beds and 2 large terrace areas with patio table, chairs, sun lounges and a large traditional Greek BBQ. There is also a private drive with parking for at least two cars.

Gennadi is less than a 25 minute drive North from the beautiful, historic town of Lindos and 25 minutes South from the surfing paradise of Prasonisi. Rhodes airport is approximately a 60 minute drive (60km). Car hire is recommended and widely available, however the village is served by a regular bus service which will take you where you need to go at very low fares. Taxis are also good value and can take you to and from the airport.

Bedlinen and towels are provided (not beach towels). The villa will be cleaned and bedlinen/towels changed weekly, prior to arrival and mid stay for 14 day rental. Additional cleaning/changes on request (payable locally). An emergency call out service is also provided by the Property Management company.

The South Aegean region

The Dodecanese are a group of 12 larger plus 150 smaller Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, of which 26 are inhabited. They have a rich history, and many of even the smallest inhabited islands boast dozens of Byzantine churches and medieval castles. Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site.

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, Rhodes has the best sunshine record of all the Mediteranean islands. This, together with its overwhelming natural beauty and significant historical interest, makes the island so special and the reason why people visit year after year.

Rhodes is a place where you very much please yourself and shape your holiday as you want to. You could spend a quiet week or two just in Gennadi relaxing at the villa and enjoying the local beach, but it would be a shame to miss the Greek hospitality in the restaurants and bars where it is their pleasure to serve you and to ensure you enjoy their food, drink and hospitality as well as the wonderful history and scenery this beautiful island has to offer.

The famous Acropolis at Lindos is within a 25 minute drive North from Gennadi and Rhodes Old Town, New Town and Port can be reached in about an hour.

Prassonissi beach is about a 25 minute drive south of Gennadi and is worth a visit. This is where the Mediterranean and the Aegean oceans meet and when the tides are low you can walk across to the tiny island which is the most southerly tip of Rhodes. Prassonissi is a paradise for water sports and very popular with kite and wind surfers.

A trip to the west coast of the island will take you through beautiful pine forests where you can visit many sites including the ancient castle at Monolithos and the ancient city at Kameiros. The rugged coastal scenery is beautiful and the roads will take you through some traditional Greek villages selling produce such as honey, olive oil and tapestries.

For those looking for a more active holiday there is the WaterPark at Falaraki, an 18 hole golf course at Afandou and Go Karts at nearby Lardos. Watersports are available at several beaches and diving trips from Rhodes town.

Other places worth visiting are the beautiful Valley of The Butterflies (Petaloudes), Epta Piges (Seven Springs), Filerimos and the Marine Aquarium and Rodini Park in Rhodes Town.
