Inside the Castle walls of Castelo São Jorge, you find a tiny, old and romantic neighbourhood called Castelo. In these narrow streets you find the authentic Lisboa - and my cosy apartment, in a characteristic old house with thick walls, shutters on the windows, plank floors and wooden ceilings.

The apartment has:

Livingroom with dinnertable and corner sofa that can be converted into a comfortable double bed. It also has plenty of litterature in english, danish and portuguese.

Bedroom with double bed and wardrobe.

Kitchen with washing machine, coffee/espresso machine, toaster, juicemaker, microwave etc.

Bathroom with shower.

If you bring small children, I can provide a push chair, a high chair, a cradle and some toys.

The apartment is not big but the space is used efficiently. It has good space for two persons and can accommodate up to four (f.ex. two couples of friends or a family with children).

You will be in the perfect location for romantic walks in the narrow streets full of classical Lisbon architecture; houses covered with colorful tiles, plenty of viewing spots, cafés, handycraft shops - and cosy restaurants with traditional portuguese food, fado song and good wine.

The famous tram nr. 28 passes nearby and is a romantic way of transportation down to the city center.

Come and experience the real Lisbon!

The weather

Lisbon has a mild and pleasant climate with a lot of sunshine most of the year. It can get quite hot in the summer (July/August) where temperatures up to 40 degrees are not uncommon. Winter (December-February) is quite wet but can easily have nice sunny days in-between also.

The beaches

All around Lisbon you find good baches. From the southernbound not-windy and calm beaches towards Cascais, to the the windy westcoast surfingparadises on Costa Caparica + to the North of Cascais.

Only 15 minutes (by train) from the city centre, you find the first beaches - all equipped with surfschools (which is a recommendable experience!)

There are frequent local trains going towards Cascais + Sintra

There are ferries to the other side of the river Tejo

There are stations for long distances train + busses around town

Alfama, Graça, Mouraria, Baixa. All around Castelo you find old and historical neighbourhoods. located on steep hills with a view down towards the river Tejo or the city center.

These are perfect locations for a walk in narrow streets with classical Lisbon architecture, houses covered with colorful tiles, cafés with a view, shops with handicraft - and cosy restaurants with traiditional portuguese food, fado song and good wine.

The famous tram line nr. 28 passes nearby and is a romantic way of transportation down to the city center.

Lisboa is not 'just' the capital of Portugal - but of the amazing portuguese history. Here you find the remains of the impressive discoveries done by portugiese explorers in the 16th to 18th century and the wealth the colonies brought to the country.

Huge cathedrals (and lots of them as Portugal is a catholic country), many muesums stretching from (old and modern) art to the tiles that is the very hallmark of Lisbon houses.

Finally a thing to experience is fado. These sad, longing folklore songs accompagnied by the 12-string portuguese guitar is an amazing spice to a good dinner in one of the old neighbourhoods. Even though you may not understand the lyrics, you will for sure understand the moods....
