Sandy beaches, large salt lakes and lots of history - something for everyone.
Torrevieja is the nearest town which has a lively atmosphere all year round...
There are two harbours, a fantastic seafront promenade and an elevated marina promenade (almost 2km long) all are perfect for a stroll and sightseeing. The market along the sea front is always busy and a funfair provides more entertainment during the summer evenings.
The Habaneras is a newer out of town shopping centre with lots of shops and cafes on the top floor. It is normally open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm. Next door is the The Ozone Complex with a Ten Pin Bowling Alley,pool tables, Crazy Golf and a Casino.
There are two water parks in Torrevieja. The Aquopolis is ideal for teenagers, whilst the Flamingo Park is great for young children under the age of ten. Both are open during the summer months only.
Things to do and see in Torrevieja;
The Town Centre has a large selection of shops and restaurants, spreading out from the Ramon Gallud, one of the main streets.
The Submarine S61 Delfin is a Daphne class submarine given to the Torrevieja’s Council by the Spanish army becoming the “first floating museum” of its type in Spain. It forms part of The Sea and Salt Museum, situated on the Calle Patricio Perez and houses a selection of articles that reflect Torrevieja's historic past. You could also visit The Salt Industry Information Centre, The Nativity Museum, The Ricardo Lafuente Habanera Museum or The Natural History Museum.
A Boat ride to Tabarca Island is a great day out and leaves the harbour daily in the summer. A wealth of Restaurants bars and great beaches mean you can make a whole day of the trip. When returning to Torrevieja the evening market along the promenade makes a good end to a day. In summer there are lots of stalls in the market which stay open until late (in winter there are less stalls and they tend to shut by 8pm)
