Set in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only 20 miles from a World Heritage Site, there's plenty to enjoy in this stunning part of Cornwall. - Scenic walking trails, a stroll along one of the 400+ fabulous beaches, surfing, swimming, birdwatching, golfing, fishing, exploring or just relaxing and chilling out. Praa Sands has a beautiful beach, with high cliffs on each side and huge sand dunes, the place to see many encasing this lovely beach. But there is more to Praa Sands, with historic Pengersick Castle, dating back to the 13th century, walks through the old estate of Pengersick to Rinsey village, with ancient

woodland and medieval ponds. From Rinsey, a short walk takes you to Rinsey

head, high above the sea and down to Wheal Prosper, a long disused mine engine house used in tbe filming of the Poldark Series and set up high on the cliffs, with spectacular views.. The local sub tropical gardens of Bonython,

Trengwainton, Glendurgan and Trebah are superb places to see unusual and

rare plants which thrive in the mild climate of West Cornwall The magical

fairytale castle at St Michaels Mount is only a ten minute drive away. Set amid

the roaring sea, this granite castle sitting on top of a rocky outcrop is accessible

at low tide by an ancient granite causeway or by ferry at high tide Walkers have the entire coastline to choose from, plus many interesting Inland walks, carved

out by early pilgrims, saints and the miners of yesteryear. With such a fabulous

coastline, water sports enthusiasts have everything they desire. If all this activity

is just too much for you, just chill out and relax on the balcony at Kerensa, or on

the beach. The high moorland contains many bronze and iron age monoliths/

megaliths and archaeological remains including hill top forts. Hidden coves along

the coast path can reveal basking seals and rare Cornish Choughs. Don't forget to check out the towns which still support small independent shops.

Praa Sands

It's said that Lands End peninsula is the place that time forgot. It certainly seems so as you drive down winding lanes, through ancient hamlets and across rugged moors. This is an ancient and mysterious land where legends abound. Having experienced the exhilaration of standing at the end of Britain, leave the many tourists behind and head for Cape Cornwall. This is the REAL Cornwall. Then onto Porthcurno and the unbelievable, incredible open air theatre perched on the cliffs. Built by Rowena Wade and her gardener, it should be listed as the eighth wonder of the world. Catch a performance there, you may even see

dolphins playing or basking sharks drifting by. Porthcurno beach is one of the

finest in the area. If you are feeling energetic and advenurous, Kerensa is within

a few minutes walk of the justly famous Cornish Coast Path. And with the Bus

stop within 2 minutes walk of the lodge, you can hike or stroll along the coast

path to Penzance, St Michaels Mount, Porthleven, Mullion or Helston and catch

the bus back from any of these places. With onward connections to the Lizard

and Lands End, you can venture even further.. Water sports enthusiasts will find

many activities on Praa Sands beach, including surf boarding and kayaking. If you've always wanted to learn how to surf, the surfing school on Praa Sands

beach is the perfect place. Experienced surfers have the choice of several great

surfing beaches apart from Praa Sands, you have Porthleven Beach,

Peranuthnoe, Kennack Sands and Sennen Cove. All within easy driving distance

of the holiday lodge. With many golf courses in the area plus the Praa Sands golf
