Set in its own very private, landscaped grounds, the 400 year old Jurston Barn has an indoor heated swimming pool and a sunken hot tub for the exclusive use of guests. In the secure, child friendly garden, your children can explore the wooden play equipment and slide, whilst the adults enjoy drinks and food around the table on the large patio area, cook at the barbecue or relax on the loungers.
The interior of the Barn blends modern convenience with traditional features, providing spacious and flexible accommodation in which to relax. There are six beautifully appointed en-suite superking or twin bedrooms, three separate lounges, a games room with pool table and table football and a stunning fully-equipped oak kitchen. There is a large dining and entertaining room where guests can eat under the stars, courtesy of our huge skylights. The Barn is fitted with TVs in every room (including bathrooms), Sky(full package), a DVD player, WiFi and a Bose iPod docking station. All linen, dressing gowns and large, fluffy towels are provided. We also have oak cots, toddler beds and high chairs. A selection of games and films can be found in the cupboard.
Jurston Barn is just a ten minute walk from the heart of Wellington, a thriving market town offering several local pubs, an artisan baker, a proper butcher and grocer and also a Waitrose. Within a short drive of Jurston Barn are several excellent pub restaurants; The Merry Harriers up on the Blackdown Hills, the lovely Flavours Restaurant in Wellington High Street, The Half Moon at Clayhidon, the new Indian restaurant in Wellington, the Tamarind Bay and The Globe at Appley.
With many wonderful walks and fun visitor attractions, Jurston Barn, in the picturesque Vale of Taunton Deane is the perfect place for a short visit or a longer holiday. The Barn is conveniently located just six minutes off the motorway and half an hour from both the Somerset and Devon coastlines. Exmoor and Dartmoor are within easy reach. For walkers, there is a range of walks to suit everyone, the Wellington Monument being one of the most popular. Guests can also bring or hire cycles and explore the local villages and countryside.
The owners live in the nearby farm and keep their horses in the surrounding fields. If you would like to bring your own horse, stabling is offered. There is parking on site for 6-7 cars.
