The Costa Blanca or White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain (approximately in the middle) and covers the province of Alicante. The Costa Blanca is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south.
The Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures. The climate is recognised as one of the best in the world by the World Health Organisation
The Costa Blanca is famous for its tourism. Once upon a time the places along the coast were mostly just tiny fishing villages. Then the fantastic climate and beaches attracted tourists and the area boomed. The Costa Blanca has over 100 kms of sandy beaches and rocky coves and many of the beaches have the coveted European Blue Flag signifying cleanliness and safe bathing.
The Costa Blanca is a beautiful region with mountains stretching along most of the coast. The A7 motorway (with some toll sections) stretches from north to south along the coast. The N-332 also runs parallel yet is free from charges although much slower as it passes through the middle of many towns.
There are huge amounts of flights into Alicante airport, especially from Northern Europe. Valencia airport to the north is also well serviced. Further to the south of the Costa Blanca is Murcia airport.
The Costa Blanca has something for everyone from tiny rural inland villages to cosmopolitan tourist resorts on the coast such as Benidorm. Its attractions lie in its beauty – the amazing vivid blue Mediterranean waters, the lovely sandy beaches, the old towns and villages with their old narrow streets, the restaurants and bars where one can sit and relax outside because of the wonderful all-year round climate. It's simply a wonderful place in which to enjoy life (as we should do but often don't) and feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
One of the good things about coming on holiday to the Costa Blanca is the different types of places you can visit. There is great variety and each place has something for everyone.
For example you can go inland and enjoy the unspoilt traditional 'real' Spain or you can stay on the coast and enjoy the hustle and bustle and nightlife of busy tourist resorts such as Benidorm or alternatively within a short distance you can stay on the coast in quaint, quiet fishing villages – the choice is yours!

The Costa Blanca encompasses the area of the Mediterranean from Valencia in the northern most tip right down to the Mar Menor – just north of Cartagena and about 20 miles south of Alicante.
The southern region is where you will also find 4 courses, but in a more concentrated area of land within close vicinity to Torrevieja which is very well known with the British market. The La Finca course has now established itself as one of Spain's very best whilst Villamartin and Ramblas need no introductions.
Torrevieja is a fast developing Mediterranean coastal town situated approximately 30 miles from Alicante / Murcia airports on the Costa Blanca, in the south east of Spain. It is easily accessible due to the main N322 road and the A7 motorway and is an ideal location for a summer or winter sun holiday with an average of 320 days sunshine each year
Torrevieja ("old tower") was originally a salt mining and fishing village. The area has been increasing in tourism over the years, which lead to the town becoming a city. Torrevieja has its own micro-climate due to being between the sea and two large salt lakes. It's still relatively small though; you could probably see the whole town on foot if you wanted to but a regular local bus is available for convenience. The Torrevieja Aquopolis is the largest water park in all of the Costa Blanca or if you prefer the beach, you can find some great Blue Flag beaches to relax upon or participate in some of the watersports here.
The Costa Blanca weather is favorable with sun and warm temperatures all year round. The weather along the Costa Blanca is considered to be very healthy. The World Health Organization has named this area one of the healthiest places in the world to live.
Torrevieja is situated next to the sea in the south of the Valencian Community and it boasts lots of beaches, a natural park and salt lakes where there is an abundance of flamingos and other wildlife. Due to the vicinity of the salt lakes, Torrevieja benefits from a microclimate that has been a long favourite with the Spanish and Nordic tourists who come year after year for its beneficial effects.
A popular place to stay, Torrevieja caters well for tourism, with plenty of activities on offer by day or night although it isn't a resort in the package holiday sense. The town provides first class facilities for lovers of all sports - there are golf clubs, a flying club, a variety of water sports and the municipal stadium with an athletics track, sauna and covered courts for tennis .Visitor numbers increase greatly during the summer months of July and August, and Easter is another popular time, it's no wonder with a fantastic climate, lots of restaurants and shops galore, Torrevieja is the ideal choice for a fun-packed holiday in the sun or for longer stays in the winter
