Old Tolbooth Wynd is ideally situated for Waverley Station – 5 minute walk and around a 10 minute walk from the bus station or the airport bus stops.
Walk through the private courtyard and you will find yourself in the Canongate area of the Royal Mile through the Old Tolbooth Arch built in 1581. Turn left to visit the historic Canongate Kirk and churchyard and the scene in 2011 of the Queen’s granddaughter’s wedding. Keep walking and you will soon come to Holyrood Palace , the Scottish Parliament and Dynamic Earth or climb Arthur’s seat for a panoramic view of the city.
Turn right at the arch and wander up the High Street to the Castle passing John Knox’s House , St, Giles Cathedral, the Old Parliament building and much more.
Exit the building onto Calton Road and it is a 5 minute walk to John Lewis and Harvey Nicholls and across St Andrews Square to the shops of George Street and Princess Street. There is also a Vue cinema complex at the top of Calton Road.
There are a wide selection of bars and restaurants in the Royal Mile and in town to suit all tastes and budgets. There is an information package in the apartment with recommended places to eat and details of places to visit.

The apartment is in the Canongate area of the Royalmile which leads from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. The area is steeped in history and walking in any direction will lead you past many landmarks of Scottish history from the 16th century to the present day. The area offers many interesting bars, restaurants and shops.
In August there is the world famous Edinburgh Festival with its thousands of shows and Military Tattoo.Other festivals and attractions run continuously throughout the year. Visit Dynamic Earth, the newly refurbished museum, art galleries or numerous other attraction all within walking distance from the apartment.
