Further details

If your perfect holiday is to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, enjoy swimming, sailing, fishing and snorkelling or perhaps diving in crystal clear waters and lagoons. If you like relaxing on deserted beaches, enjoy picnics in sheltered coves or like walking or mountain biking amidst breath-taking scenery. Or perhaps you simply enjoy luxury accommodation where you may relax by your own private pool - if this is you then you have probably found the ideal villa rental and holiday destination.....The Olive House, Neo Chorio, Cyprus.

The Paphos District

The villa is in a magnificent location with the village, beach, sea, town and countryside all very close by...............

Polis Chrysochous is one of the, if not the, most beautiful locations in Cyprus. On the north-western part of southern Cyprus the area has been blessed by nature and combines the beauty of mountain, sea and plain.

The villa is in a truly wonderful location with the village, beach, sea, town and countryside all very close by........

Neo Chorio Village - set in the hillside above the bay, Neo Chorio (1km) is a winding village of stone cottages & white-washed houses. It's maintained its rustic charm with local traditions and customs still in evidence but you will also find 3 lovely traditional tavernas, 2 simple coffee shops & a small but well stockedfood store!

The Akamas National Park (on the doorstep!)) is a tranquil eco-system of Mediterranean natural beauty. It is an enchanting place to explore and a paradise for the more active holidaymaker to enjoy outdoor pursuits such as walking, hiking, cycling and running! The area is strewn with romantic spots, most of which are connected with Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and beauty. Indeed a leisurely walk to the Baths of Aphrodite is just one of the wonderful nature trails you can do directly from The Olive House. The Smigies trail through the pine forest is another one of our favourites!

Polis (8km) is a bustling town (but far from crowds and never busy) just 10 minutes or so drive from the villa.. As you walk around the cobbled streets of the town you cannot fail to be impressed by the old traditional buildings, many with beautiful wooden balconies, and eclectic mix of restaurants, local cafes and bars, shops, history, culture & beach. The centre of Polis, with its restored stone buildings, is a paved square and fountain at its heart and is a wonderful spot to sit and watch the world pass by.

Polis Beach is a small secluded spot but it's among the cleanest beaches in Cyprus and has been awarded a European 'Blue Flag', it's also in a fabulous spot nestled amongst orchards and woods and you'll find a great beach bar so you can quite easily relax there for the day.

Other activities such as: bird watching in the Akamas, golf (course at Tsada 20 minutes drive), wine tasting in the hillside vineyards, and Skiing in the Troodos (2 hours drive away) can all be enjoyed (depending on the season you stay!) when holidaying at The Olive House!

Paphos Town & harbour are 45 minutes drive. Paphos, in comparison to the Polis region, is a busy tourist and commercial centre. There are a range of activities to explore in Paphos including historical sites, a lovely harbour, beach, a mixture of local and tourist shops, the market and lots of bars and restaurants.

Paphos also boasts a large waterpark and zoo for lots of family fun!

Events not to be missed in the region and area:

Green Monday

The first day of Lent is celebrated on the beach with kite flying and traditional dances.

Greek Easter

This is a wonderful celebration in the region and Neo Chorio village hosts traditional Easter games

Is a flower festival on the paved streets with exhibitions, flower markets and music.

Kataklysmos, The Feast of the Holy Spirit at Latchi

This is celebrated 50 days after Greek Orthodox Easter with sea games and traditional dances in the harbour at Latchi.

The climate in Cyprus is wonderful, particularly from March to November. In March the weather is likely to be gentle sunshine, perfectfor walking and out door pursuits and in November the locals say that it is possible to ski in the Troodos mountains in the morning and swim in the warm Med in the afternoon. Fantastic! The location and position of The Olive House means that it benefits from a wonderful breeze in the summer months.

Latchi is a prestigious beach resort and harbour just 5 minutes drive away.

There are a choice of beaches in Latchi (3km) with the nearest just 5 minutes drive away. The warm clear sea is ideal for swimming and a variety of water sports and the long stretch of beach is never crowded. You may consider taking a fabulous boat trip to the nearby Blue Lagoon, and swim in the crystal clear waters, or hire a motorboat around the bay - take snorkels and a picnic for a wonderful day out. For the more adventurous, why not try your hand at deep sea fishing or diving - all of this is possible from Latchi. The paved board walk at Latchi is flanked by old carob warehouse that have been converted into tavernas or fish taverns. It's a delight to sit and relax in around the pretty harbour, a great spot for a fresh fish meze & to watch the fishermen unload their catch. Here daily life meets opulence and you can also admire the fabulous yachts that are moored and see how the other half live!.
