The Dordogne region

La Grange is situated on the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne borders only a short drive away from the lovely market town of Ste Foy La Grande where you have a fantastic choice of supermarkets, bakers, bars and restaurants whilst only being a short walk from the banks of the Dordogne River. Golfers can enjoy the delights of Chateau de Vigiers - again, only a shortdrive away. Bordeaux is about 90 minutes away and Bergerac about 10 minutes - both have airports. Just beyond Bordeaux is the fantastic Atlantic coastline, which boasts the highest sand dunes in Europe and some of the best beaches. For wine lovers - visits to St Emilion, Pomerol and Monbazillac are all within easy reach.

This is a perfect base to see the sights, visit the local markets and simply relax whilst taking in a glass or two of the exceptional local wine. Wine tours can be arranged during your stay.

Within a 20 minute drive you have an abundance of places to visit; Issigeac market on a Sunday is not to be missed, the chateau at Monbazillac, home to their famous desert wine or one of the many medieval Bastide market towns which litter the area - Eymet, being another worthy of a visit - not only for its colourful evening markets during July & August but also for some lovely restaurants. Chateau le Vigiers, a renowned golf course is also close by.
