The property is a more than 100 years old small chateau, originally wine producing. An old barn has been newly renovated with a great sense of charm and demand of high quality. The gite serves well 4 persons and contains a living room with dining area and a fully equiped kitchen. All is restored tastefully and to a high standard. New matresses and down duvets in all beds. Modern family bathroom in Scandinavian style. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, pool and beach towels must be brought. High chair and chikdrens bed availabe on request.On request there may be room for 1-2 additional persons (extra 20 Euro charged per person).

The property is approx. 10.000 m2 and can be enjoyed by guests. The pool is 10 x 5 meters and has an alarm system to ensure minors. It is covered every night to keep the water temperature stable.Small pets may be allowed, please enquire.
Aquitaine and Gironde offers a number of interesting activities. Wine production is the heart of Gironde and there are lots of possibilities for tasting wines and for visiting wine properties.The weather in Gironde is mainly warm and dry from April to mid October. In June and July the temperature can and will exceed 28 C. August is warmer and temperature will exceed 32 C. September is a bit cooler but still very nice.Even in October and November there are very nice days with up to 16-18C and full sun.
In the gite a guide to activities and suggestions to tours can be found including a number of brochures.Blaye (15km) is located at the riverside of the Gironde and is dominated by the Citadelle, which is a manifique fortress which is a "must see". The tide can be seenall alongt the riverside of Gironde. A small ferry takes you from Blaye over the Gironde to the Medoc peninsula, where the "route de chateau" can be followed and a number of the most famous wine growing castles can be seen. At some of them a wine tasting is offered.Along the Gironde riverside there are several bird sanctuaries and for ornithology interested this is a "must see". Every day there is a market in one of the nesrby villages. In Montendre (12km) there is in July and August a weekly "night market", where you can listen to music and and eat together with the locals in the streets.Golf can be played in Montendre as well. Green fee is 10 Euro.In Etaulier (3km) you can once a month rent a go-cart (10 euro) and try it yourself.Magnificant underground caves can be seen a number of places within short distance. Guided tours available as well.The Gironde area is softly hilled and is very wellsuited for bycycling. Old railways have been turned into bycycling routes and maps can be provided from the tourist offices. 4 bycycles are available for guests.St. Emilion (60km) is a fascinating, extremely charming small village surrounded by some of the most famous castles and is a "must see".Arcachon (120km) is the city south west of Bordeaux at the Atlantic costline, where the rich "Bordelaise" have there summer recidences. It is a fashionable shopping area with restaurants and cafe's and of course the beach. Near by is the "Dune the Pilat", the greatest dyne in Europe, and is a visit worth while.Bordeaux (55km) is an aristocratic, beautiful metropole with shopping, boulevards, restaurants and bars and is "must see".
