The coast of Lisbon is very beautiful due to its rugged and diverse natural setting, Atlantic Ocean, Sandy Beaches and Natural Park. The Climate tends to be sunny and mild during most of the year, although the area is subject to a micro climate and can be cooler and subject to misty mornings. From the Capital of Portugal, the very trendy Lisbon city, to the historical coastal village of Cascais to Sintra & Colares, there is much to experience.
Colares is a small village on the coast of Lisbon near historical Sintra, which is a World Heritage Town. Its is fusion of coastal land and natural park. There are beautiful sandy beaches nearby, such as Praia da Adraga, Praia das Maças e Praia Grande, which are renown for surfing and sunbathing during many months of the year.Colares is known for its large sandy beaches, wonderful seafood restaurants and great for nature walking, hiking and birdwatching.Nearby Sintra has many historical landmarks and castles to visit.During the summer months there are two music festivals - Cascais Jazz Fest & Sintra Ballet & Classical Music. The climate in this area is mostly fair from the months of May till October, and is quite cool in the evenings.
