The England region

Cornwall in the West Country is well known for its countryside and coastline of outstanding beauty. The region is also celebrated for its good food and restaurants and many visitor attractions - both indoor and outdoor.

Not far away is Padstow with its picturesque harbour, designer shops and several excellent restaurants belonging to the popular TV chef Rick Stein. The Michelin starred restaurant of Nathan Outlaw is located at nearby Rock and other fine dining is available within a short drive at Port Isaac, the charming ancient harbour where the TV series Doc Martin was filmed.

Washaway is located very close to the Camel Cycle trail, once an old railway line that runs between Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. This is a popular local attraction and cycles can be hired locally. Washaway is also very close to the beautiful country house Pencarrow, open to the public and where the grounds are celebrated for their annual snowdrop display. Just three miles away is Wadebridge with its plethora of shops, restaurants and excellent cinema. Within a 20 minute drive are the famous sand dune beaches of Daymer Bay at Trebetherick and Rock and the wide surfing beach of Polzeath.
