I have been living in France for 20 years and have created a warm and welcoming Bed & Breakfast environment within the smart but comfortable top floor apartment that I am looking forward to sharing with you.
52 Clichy is the only B&B in the 2016 Frommer's Paris Day by Day guidebook and it is listed as the Best Value property in Paris. 'Make yourselves at home' is the only house rule.
As the B&B overlooks an inner courtyard and private gardens, 52 Clichy is an oasis of calm and peace where birdsong is normally the loudest noise you will hear - this is surprising because you are in the heart of the city, with the Moulin Rouge and Montmartre just a few minutes walk away to the North and the luxury shopping area and the Paris Opéra to the South.
Your bedroom can be organised to accommodate either a very comfortable 2m wide bed with feather mattress or 2 twin beds. Bedlinen is luxury 400 count thread cotton. Your ensuite bathroom has a shower in bath and your private WC is opposite (as in most French homes the toilet is separate from the bathroom).
However you won't spend too much time in the bedroom because you have a large living space and a wonderfully sunny terrace (from which breakfast will be provided on warm mornings). Why not take an aperitif on the terrace before dinner whilst planning your next day's schedule or spend the evenings relaxing on the comfortable sofas in the living room resting your feet after walking around the city all day.
Breakfast is an important moment in the B&B experience I offer, it is the time for great discussions and lots of laughter, many questions and answers, when I may help with your itinerary, explain the intricacies of French life or just how to use the metro!
For those who have difficulty walking, there are NO steps / stairs to deal with - there is a modern elevator from the ground floor to the front door of the apartment and the apartment is Wheelchair friendly - Internal doors are at least 80cms / 31 inches wide - if you need a wheelchair at times the B&B is perfect though you need to be able to take a couple of steps to access the balcony. If you are completely wheelchair-bound take a look at my apartment by searching for '52 Clichy apartment ' as it is completely functional for wheelchair users.
There is Free (and very fast - 100 Mb/s) fibre optic internet access and Wifi. The internet provider also offers free telephone calls to almost all landlines around the World and calls to cell phones in the USA and Canada.
I love this area as we are so central, we are an ideal base for walking / visiting all that Paris has to offer. We are surrounded by great local restaurants (just ask for my list!) especially those dotted around Montmartre on the way to the fabulous Sacré Coeur that dominates the Parisian skyline.
Transportation is excellent, there are 3 metro stations on rue de Clichy which is only half mile long ! There are also dozens of buses from Place de Clichy and St Lazare passing all the places you want to go. If you want to go further afield, in 5 minutes walk you can catch a train from St Lazare train station to Versailles Chateau or Monet's Gardens or even to the Normandy Beaches.
If you arrive by car there is a secure Car Park very close by (ask for the internet link) and if you book in advance it is half price and 'Vélib' & 'Autolib' (bike & car hire) stations are just opposite the building for the brave at heart.
Why stay here and not close to Notre Dame ? If you take your map of Paris and draw a line from Montmartre/SacréCoeur church in the North, to the Arc de Triomphe in the West, scoop round the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame on the Island in the middle of the Seine and back to Montmartre you have a triangle with the Opera Garnier in the heart of the city. Rue de Clichy is just 3 minutes from there!
Also we don't suffer the downside of any of the very touristy areas ; constant traffic noise, millions of tourists and the accompanying awful tourist restaurants. Here we are close enough to walk to everything but just far enough away to have an amazing garden view, THAT terrace, birdsong, no traffic noise and excellent local restaurants so you have a real Parisian Experience.

If you must leave Central Paris then from St Lazare train station at the bottom of the road you can take a 30 minute shuttle to the Chateau de Versailles, it is the easiest way to get there.
A direct train from St Lazare takes you directly to Giverny and Monet's Gardens whilst visiting the Bayeux tapestry and the Normandy Beach coastline is easily possible in a day trip.
In only 45 minutes on a TGV train from the Gare du Nord train station, just 15 minutes from us, you can be champagne tasting in Reims in the Champagne region!
Left, left and 2nd left are the directions necessary to arrive in less than 5 minutes at the Moulin Rouge and the base of Montmartre. Walk straight down the hill to the luxury Grands Magasins (Galeries Lafayette & Printemps) and the Opéra all in less than 10 minutes.
Surrounded by excellent restaurants in this local area you are close to everything but without being disturbed by the bustle of tourists.
