The Sicily region

The best advice for Sicily’s first time traveller is to visit only a portion of it.
Sicily is the largest island of the Mediterranean and the world's most ancient multicultural society: every corner has its historical and natural wonders, its own peculiar character and history. It would be a pity not to take advantage of it.
Luckily Sicily can be visited all year around: the climate is mild even in winter and each season offers its specialities, starting from the celebrated cuisine which is at its best when it features seasonal ingredients.

Noto, the 'garden of stone', is a late baroque urbanistic jewel that dominates the southern tip of Sicily, known as the Val di Noto.
The primary tourist activity in Noto is simply to wander around the beautiful streets or sit outside the Caffè Sicilia for incomparable sweets.
But you can also enjoy the beaches of Vendicari's Natural Reserve all year around and explore the wetlands for birdwatching.
Visit Greek and Roman ruins in the surrounding countryside or stop by at one of the wineries off the road.
Trek up and down the Hyblean Mountains heading for Pantalica or Cavagrande del Cassibile with it’s hidden lakes at the bottom.
Check out low cost flights to Catania Airport (one hour drive) from all over Europe
