Villa ArosaVilla Arosa is nestled at the foot of a pine forest in calm and scenic surroundings. Hisaronu centre is just a 5 minute stroll away where there are many shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. There are some fantastic restaurants to choose from, whether you fancy Indian, Italian, Chinese, English or even a good old fashioned Turkish kebab!! Some have open kitchens where you can view your meal being prepared by the chefs. Once fed and watered we suggest that you walk off your meal and visit some of the many craft shops situated on the main street. You can buy everything from hand-crafted garments and tablewares, designer furnishings, pictures and some Aladdin's caves of fake designer clothing and bags from leather to silk, cotton and denim copied from designers such as Gucci, Prada, Machino, Dkny etc. etc. Some are difficult to tell from the real thing! All for a fraction of the price!!!

Hisaronu and Ovacik lie close by in the hills behind Olu Deniz, surrounded by pine forests and beautiful countryside. These resorts have grown from the popularity of Olu Deniz itself, as when the conservation area made it impossible to build more hotels and apartments by the sea, the hillside villages within easy reach of the beach started to grow. Both resorts are now incredibly popular with British guests with many holidaymakers deciding to settle in the area and there is a wide selection of restaurants, bars and pubs to cater for their tastes.
Hisaronu offers splendid views of the surrounding pine clad mountains. The air here is usually cooler and fresher than at sea level, which can be very welcome at the height of the summer.
Getting out and about between towns and villages is very easy as dolmus minibuses run between all resorts. The fare costs 2.50 lira, (approx £1.00) and they run every 5 minutes. Just lift your arm and they will stop for you. Alternatively you can walk between the centre of Hisaronu and Ovacik in about 15 minutes.
Olu Deniz is one of the most photographed resorts in Turkey and over the years has probably featured on more holiday brochure covers than anywhere else in the world. Wisely, when Turkish tourism was in its infancy the local authorities realised how precious this place was and made it a conservation area, forever protecting the stunning shoreline and village from over development.
The village resort is snuggled behind a curved strip of beach that forms an almost complete circle around a natural blue lagoon. Because of the limits on development all the accommodation in Olu Deniz are inland but within easy reach of the resort centre and the fabulous beach. Even though the beach is part of the conservation area there are areas set aside for water sports such as scuba diving, canoes and pedaloes.
Sightseeing & Activities
Organised excursions are available such as a trip to Dalyan to see the famous Lycian Rock Tombs, perhaps bathe in the sulphur mud baths or indulge in a boat trip to Butterfly Valley. As well as the usual water sports at the beach, other activities have been developed in the area such as mountain biking, quad biking, horse riding and for the really adventurous paragliding at Olu Deniz giving you stunning views over the lagoon,
landing on the beach!!! – (you can watch them come down the mountain whilst laying on your sunbed by our pool!!),
The area is also wonderful for walking and we recommend a stroll from Hisaronu to the ghost village of Kayakoy, a village abandoned by the Greeks with over 3,000 uninhabited houses, ( there is a pony track at the front of our villa which you can use to walk to the Ghost Village).
Other fantastic places to visit include: Saklikent Gorge River Walk, mud baths at Dalyan, Turtle Beach, Pamukkale, ancient city of Ephesus, Tlos, Xanthos and Patara, all of these excursions can be booked locally in Hisaronu, again we have left details at the villa. Other local activities include, Turkish Baths, Jeep Safari, Scuba Diving, Water Rafting, Jet Skiing, Boat Trips, and Turkish Nights.
An aqua-park has also opened in Hisaronu/Ovacik just a 10 to 15 minute walk away from our villa, apparently there are some fantastic slides and facilities that have been built, and we are told you can also dine and relax at Sightseeing & Activities
0ur private holiday villa is in a prime tourist location and is one of Turkeys no 1 holiday destinations. We are fantastically placed for everything you would require from a holiday. Just a 5 minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in Hisaronu centre or a 15 minute ride from the bustling, thriving town of Fethiye which has everything from quaint little shops, cafes and markets set in the backstreets of the paspatur area selling rugs, paintings, spices and designer labels.
There is beautiful marina where you can relax at one of the many seaside restaurants having freshly caught fish or an ice cold beer watching the gullet yachts sailing in and out on the harbour side in the turquoise calm waters. Fethiye’s huge market is held every Tuesday and is a real shopper’s paradise. Locals and holiday makers mingle trying to get the best bargain of the day. (Be prepared to haggle!!)
Also you can’t stay at our villa without visiting Olu Deniz lagoon and beach, 10 minute ride away, (N.B. we offer free daily transport from our villa to a private strip of beach which has a bar/snack bar and you will be transported back to the villa in the evening) which has shallow, still, crystal clear turquoise waters and a beautiful backdrop of the Taurus mountains with its pine trees as the surrounding view. The beachfront offers an abundance of bars, clubs, shops and restaurants, most of which would seriously rival establishments in Europe’s top resorts, offering silver service and al a carte through to traditional Turkish cuisine or British pub grub, the choice is yours!!
Don’t miss this stunning attraction!!!!!!
Temperatures range from 20c+ in May to 35c + in July/August and although temperatures can reach 45c there is always a very nice cooling breeze as you are 1000ft above sea level.
