Claviers is in the cool wooded hills just behind the famous 'Cote d'Azur'. The area is dotted with medieval hill villages each with its own character and vibrant culture. The villages take turns to hold festivals in the Summer, and local markets are full of colour There is a thriving community of local artists and exhibitions are held in all the villages. The village square is a place to meet the locals and enjoy an aperitif in the shade of the plane trees, or find the boules pitch and join in the local game. The coast is an hour away by car, and there are several golf courses close by. Europe's premiere gliding centre is twenty minutes away.
