As a traveller, I often have questions to ask before booking a holiday accommodation. As an owner, I often reply in detail to make it easier for the enquirer to visualise better and fully understand.
However, I always find out that the best answer remains the one as soon as our guests arrive home.... they soon 'see' all answers to their questions!
Sincerely, I can read this Wow! factor in their eyes during briefing... reaching its peak when we move to the sea view terraces facing the Mediterranean Sea and the valley.
Inside (Free WIFI access)
Well, it's got two master bedrooms, one ensuite and both with A/C and terrace and one two-single beds and a second bathroom next to it. A fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room with a seaview balcony, a Smart 32" Full HD TV with Satellite channels, DVD player, telephone (free local calls), video intercom and log fireplace. There is also a second living area with a computer PC with broadband internet access, iPhone docking station, a library of books, brochures, maps and walking guidebooks. There are also an automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, lots of garden furniture, umbrellas and beach equipment. Plus a baby cot and a high chair are available too for free if required.
Outside (Free WIFI access)
The house is heavenly blessed with a unique 360 degrees unobstructive sea views location. Just imagine the freedom you will feel having your breakfast in one of the terraces while watching sunrise... or sipping an afternoon tea or coffee while enjoying the sea views of the Maltese islands, the Blue Lagoon and the local fishermen's boats coming back... or why not share an evening BBQ al fresco enjoying the catch of the day or the fresh local meat from the butcher with a couple of local bottles of wine or Cisk beer. At Mediterranea, apart from the 3 terraces, there are also a sea view balcony and a country view balcony.
Very convenient and healthy!
We are only 10 minutes walk to waterfront restaurants, bars, supermarket, ATM, car hire, diving centre, Zewwieqa bay and boats to Blue Lagoon.
To make things even easier, every day the greengrocer and the bakery vans stop by so you can buy daily fresh local fruits, vegetables and bread without the need to walk to shops... and as soon as the fishermen unload their kavetti (Maltese technical word for special fish boxes) full of fish in the Mgarr shores, Mario the fish hawker brings the catch of the day right to your doorstep.

Can we use Public Transport instead?
Yes, definitely. You can take the white and green bus from the airport to Cirkewwa ferry terminal from where you can take the next ferry to the island of Gozo. Full details by email.

Gozo is the second largest island of Malta in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Enriched with over 7000 years of history and graciously blessed with envious natural beauty, breathtaking views, this lovely unspoiled island is an oasis of tranquility, offers a warmth of hospitality and a unique peaceful ambience. Better known as the Island of the Three Hills because flat-topped hills dot the landscape, Gozo possesses a wonderful coast with rugged cliffs penetrated by steep valleys and gorgeous bays like Ramla Bay. The countryside is greener, more spectacular, and has a distinct character. More rustic and quieter than Malta, it is 14 kilometers long and 7 kilometers at its widest point. The many bays and rocky coves in Gozo like the Azure Window in Dwejra, plus the aquamarine crystal clear water are ideal for water-sports such as snorkelling and diving. No wonder the island is considered the diving mecca in all the Mediterranean! Certainly, Gozo is not an island for those seeking bright lights and the hustle and bustle of other Mediterranean resorts. Here the pace of life is slow and relaxed. Gozo is the Mediterranean as once was, a unique romantic island, rooted in history and prehistory. A visit to Ggantija Temples in Xaghra, considered as the oldest building structures on earth, built eight centuries before the pyramids in Egypt is a must!Gozo's climate is definitely outstanding. The island where the sun always shines. Lovely. So warm but at the same time at night gently kissed by the cool breezes from the Mediterranean Sea. Sunshine averages 6.46 hours in winter and 11 hours in summer. There is no fog, snow, or frost. The hottest period is mid-July to mid-September. Today, Gozo still evokes the magic of the myth and casts its spell over today's twenty first century visitors. The sleepy pace and rustic charm of the island encourage relaxation from the moment you first set foot on the harbour-side at Mgarr. In Gozo you too can discover the charms and peaceful country surroundings while living in the traditional past.
Ghajnsielem, just above Mgarr Harbour is the gateway to the island of Gozo. Its peacefulness is historically engraved in its own name: 'Ghajn' (spring of) and 'Is-Sliem' (peace) – a spring of peace. Our unique location facing the Mediterranean Sea offers a quiet place to get away from it all. At the same time, all amenities are close by. Seafront & award winning restaurants, supermarket, beaches, diving, boat trips to Comino & Blue Lagoon, Gozo ferry, bus stops to capital Victoria & Citadel & car hire are less than 15 minutes on foot. Ghajnsielem is blessed with fantastic open spaces, five beautiful churches, the Apparition Monument, Fort Chambrai, beach and local craftsmanship workshops. Ghajnsielem is also home of Gozo's favourite pasta dishes, pastizzi, ravioli, local pizza known as ftira, fresh fish, traditional bread and of course mouthwatering pastries - a ritual souvenir for all our special guests! Our accommodation is just 10 minutes drive from the new blockbuster film By the Sea to be released this year by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. This film was filmed here in Summer/Autumn 2014 and directed by Jolie herself. FREE guided tour to this lovely place to all our guests is provided. We will be visiting the valleys which are surrounded by high rocks; the secluded pebble beach which offers clear waters and which make it ideal for underwater photography. Of course a swim would make our visit even more Special followed by a dinner in one of the best and most recommended restaurants on the island of Gozo. FREE maps and walking guide books are provided in our accommodation so you can just walk anytime from home to this beautiful filming site.Suggested reading: Ghajnsielem: The gateway to Gozo (book available at home).
