Approached down a gravel track and secured by a lockable wrought iron gate the outside of this villa offers plenty of room to play or relax. There are several areas, both to the front and to the rear of the property to get away from it all as well. The key feature to the outside of this Villa is the large (12x6) swimming pool that sits within a large lawned area. There is a separate patio to sunbathe on as well.addded in 2011- a brick and timber loggia incorporating a basic kitchen. This provides a lovely sheltered area to sit/ eat and is close to but not next to pool. Ideal for lunchtimes and evening barbeques.New for 2012 - the paving around the pool has been extended to provide more area for sunbeds off hte grass.The gravelled area to the front of the house offers parking for a large number of cars.
Please note that this property is semi detached and the 'sun terrace' shown to the front of the Villa is not part of the rental property. . The pool is also private and is solely for the use of guests at Il Drago.
The Le Marche region is located half way down Italy's Eastern coast. With a 180 Km coastline of enticing beaches on the Adriatic Sea to the east, and the gently rolling foothills of the Sibillini Mountains in the west, it provides an enchanting landscape.
The area is blessed with delightful beaches, areas of historical importance, cultural attractions, beautiful scenery and natural phenomena like the Frasassi Caves. For those of you with shopping on your mind there are great opportunities to get a bargain with factory outlets for Tods shoes, Prada, Gucci and many many other designer lables. Discounts of over 50% are not unusual. leave plenty of space in your luggage!
The climate is one of genuine seasons. The summers are long and hot (30-40 degrees - but with breezes), the autumns are stunning as the local forests turn a deep shade of red and the winters can be snowy which means skiing at the nearby Sibilini Mountains and still more stunning landscapes
The nearest Town of San Severino is blesses with magnificent architecture, a lively calander of events (including a world renown annual jazz festival), and a large number of very good restaurants and bars. You will also find supermarkets, butchers, chemists etc etc.
The following places are all within an hour's drive or less from the Villa and are certainly worth visiting.
Macerata - World famous for its annual open air opera festival in July and August, and is only 30 minutes from the Villa.
Cingoli - The walled town of Cingoli known as "the Balcony of the Marche" is only a 10 minute drive to the north west of the Villa.
Frasassi Caves - This 35 kilometre long wonderland of limestone caverns and caves is 40 minutes to the north in the Frasassi Gorge.
Tolentino - Thriving medieval town to the south which is a mecca for pilgrims visiting the shrine of St Nicholas of Tolentino
Monte Conero & Beaches - To the south of Ancona the impressive limestone head of Monte Conero provides a steep backdrop for some of the prettiest beaches on the Adriatic.
Civitanova Marche - Attractive Adriatic seaside resort and colourful fishing port with a long sandy beach and promenade.
San Severino Marche - This 6th century town features a blend of Renaissance and Medieval buildings and an elliptical "town square", and is about 20 minutes drive to the south west of the Villa.
Porto Recanati - Beach and modern resort on the Adriatic coast about 45 minutes drive from the Villa.
Sibillini Mountains - Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Sibillini Mountains by hillwalking in the summer or skiing during the winter months.
Jesi - To the north, this town has an attractive blend of old and modern, with its 14th century walls and lively cultural attractions, not to mention it being the centre of the world renowned "Verdicchio" wine producing region.
