An upper patio looks out onto the River Aude and the lower patio is actually the bank of the river. It is in a small town with numerous restaurants, cafes, banks, shops, a supermarket, a swimming pool and a cinema all within walking distance. There is plenty to do in the area with wine tasting, walking and Cathar Castles to visit and Renne de Chateau of the Di Vinci code is nearby. Another wonderful day out is to visit the beautiful city of Carcassone. The Pyranees , Spain and Andorra are also near enough to visit in one day.It is delightfully placed by the river, which will lull you to sleep at night and provide you with beautiful views during the day. The Languedoc-Roussillon region

The property is located in the Aude Lonquodoc, which is near the Pyranees in the south west of France fairly near to the Spanish border. It is in and near the wine-growing regions of the Corbieres, Limoux, Fitou, Rivesaltes and Cotes du Rousillon. It is located in the Cathar district of France and hosts dozens of Cathar castles, including the legendary city of Carcassonne. The Pyranees and Spain can be visited in one day's drive.

The River Aude flows through Quillan and past the house. There is extensive water sports available, including white water rafting. There are plenty of castles and historic towns within easy driving distance. The house is just a few minutes walk from the town which has numerous restaurants, cafes, shops, a supermarket, a swimming pool and a cinema. Quillan and most of the towns around about have weekly markets and, depending on the time of year, some very large festivals. There is a Tourist Information office nearby with all this information. There is a rail station near by which takes you to Limoux and Carcassonne if you do not wish to drive. You can catch a bus to Perpignan for 1 Euro.
