Halton House is a much-loved Edwardian "home from home" for 7 people, within walking distance of Chester's historic centre along the picturesque Shropshire Union Canal. With so many events and attractions in the North West, Cheshire and North Wales, this Chester holiday cottage enjoys an ideal location for a fantastic family holiday.

The house has retained its traditional character with original period features including the antique cast-iron range, stained glass work and Minton tiling. 'Yesteryear' charm is complimented by gas central heating, instant hot water and a spacious well-equipped kitchen complete with range cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There's also a washing machine should you need it during your stay.

Travelling west for just one hour will take you to the striking Welsh mountains and beautiful coastline. This is a superb base for a varied and enjoyable vacation at any time of year!

Northern England

Halton House is within walking distance of Chester's celebrated city centre taking a pleasant stroll along the Shropshire Union Canal. The neighborhood is a leafy residential suburb which is well-served by local bus services and has local pubs and small shops within easy reach.

Chester centre is steeped in history and the original streets laid out during the Roman occupation still form the heart of the city. The Roman walls and amphitheatre are the backdrop to a wealth of unique architecture including Elizabethan town houses, medieval churches, and the famous medieval shopping “Rows”.

There's an abundance of fine bars, bistros and restaurants to please every taste and budget. In the summer months visitors' can enjoy a picnic in the park or a rowing boat trip along the picturesque River Dee.

A fantastic day out at 'Chester Races' can be enjoyed at the 500 year old Roodee race course which also hosts show-jumping events and Polo matches.
