Clachandubh dates back to the early 1800s, it is located on its own by the burn beside a fabulous old bridge. Quiet and peaceful but only a 15 minute drive to the coast and perfectly positioned to visit the Islands. The cottage has been totally up graded from top to tail with two twins, a twin/super-king and a new en-suite bathroom. A well equipped new large family bathroom and new kitchen. Also a spacious sitting room with wifi, flat screen TV, DVD, docking station and dining area with plenty of seating gathered around a large open fire.
The local area has an abundance of wildlife with ospreys nesting on the loch near the cottage. As guests on the estate you are free to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty.

The cottage has ample parking and garage/log store. A secure private garden with table and chairs,which is laid to lawn with an azalea border round the house.The estate provides boats,canoes and bikes for hire.Wild brown trout fishing in the hill lochs and course fishing on Loch Ederline. There is also fishing on Loch Awe.Ruined castles and chapels in walking distance from the cottage.Pubs and restaurants only a short drive.An abundance of local attractions and activities in the local area.
As we are a working farm we would ask if you are bringing dogs to keep them under control. Please also never leave you dog unattended in the cottage and only bring into the cottage when clean and dry. Not in the bedrooms or on the soft furnishings! Please bring your own dog beds.

Argyll has a stunning coastline to explore which is only fifteen minutes away and stretches over 2800 miles, longer than the coast of France.
The Hebridean Islands are easy to reach by regular ferries, from Oban, Kennacraig, Tayinloon and Claonaig, which are all under an hours drive.
The mainland and the Islands have some fantastic beaches, which will keep the children happy for hours. Private boat trips can be arranged locally to include mackeral fishing or going to visit the third largest whirlpool in the world!!
The local area is steeped in history with a museum in Kilmartin to explain its ancient past. The village also has a shop, restaurant and a pub .There are ruined castles and chapels to explore in walking distance from the cottages with an abundance of fishing, walking, horse riding, sea trips, golf courses and water sports in the local area. We do have a smokery in the village of Ford for excellent smoked fish and restaurants only a short drive away in Crinan,Ardfern and Cairnbarn.
