Duck Street Cottage is located in the heart of Symondsbury Village, which has a local pub and church. Symondsbury is surrounded by some incredible scenery, including the famous Colmers Hill, which is definitely worth a walk to the top to experience the spectacular views. Symondsbury has the best of both worlds and really does gives the visitor a chance to go back in time and experience traditional country village living, whilst being on the outskirts of a modern market town.
The Market town of Bridport is located 2 miles away with markets on both Wednesday and Saturday, there is also a very popular vintage market on Sundays. Bridport boasts a number of individual shops as well as Waitrose, Morrisons and Lidls. Bridport is famous for being a 'foodies' haven with fantastic restaurants, bistros and tea rooms. There are plenty of artist studios to visit and galleries plus the Electric Palace Cinema which hosts live music and comedy nights.
The beautiful beaches and cliffs along the coast offer plenty of walks and fish restaurants, some of which are recommended on our website.
