The Sardinia region

Sardinia is the second biggest island of the Mediterranean and one of the favourite tourist destinations nowadays. It is characterized by its uncontaminated botanical landscapes and fauna, its beautiful and unique beaches and its history and multicultural traditions which are clearly seen on its gastronomy, its architecture and its monuments.

The natural landscape of the island intermingles plains and forests, ponds and lakes, strong torrents that create gorges and waterfalls, extensive beaches, breakwaters and slopes.

Its sea’s transparency, its landscape´s beauty and uniqueness and its cultural, culinary and historic richness, are just a few of the innumerabile qualities that have made the Island to become a dream land for many tourists. Whoever comes in Sardinia falls in love with it and can not think about anything else but coming back at every possible occasion.

Porto Rotondo

Golfo Aranci is one of the most beautiful towns of Sardinia's north east coast. Located at the base of the Capo Figari's promontory, it peeps over the Gulf of Olbia and it is considered a harbour and tourist neuralgic point.

Founded as a small fishermen town, in 1961, the State-owned rail-road system shuttle service started in Golfo Aranci, for car and passenger transportation.

The town becomes this way the second access from la Gallura to the sea and it also starts developing a tourist profile thanks to its land's beauty and proximity to Costa Smeralda. Nowadays, Golfo Aranci, with 2000 inhabitants, besides keeping its strategic role as a passenger and fishing harbour, is always focused on tourism, with the recovering of the rail-road's abandoned areas, the protection of its seaboard and the building of new hotel and recreational facilities.

The town offers the possibility to its many tourists of practising trekking, nautical sports and diving in its crystalline waters and, for those who love local cuisine, there are excellent fresh fish dishes at its local restaurants, at any time or season of the year.
