A charming and beautiful traditional farmhouse available for bookings from 2 to 9 people.Totally renovated combining old style with modern facilities with a large sea gravel courtyard and old stone out-buildings.
The house is situated in the sunniest part of Ireland at the end of a deserted lane with cows and sheep as neighbours and leading onto a small beach.
Exquisite, expansive and isolated beaches can be found all along the coast, with seals, puffins and rare bird life. Occasionally, I have been lucky enough to spot dolphins from the front of the house.
Bannow island and neighbouring Ring of Hook are filled with ancient ruins, history and archaeological sites. Normans first invaded Ireland on Bannow island in 1146 and the ancient stone church still stands which is very close to the property. Local attraction include Johnstown Castle, Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys with Wexford and Waterford being easy reach.
Fishing trips out to the Saltees Islands, an abundance of horse riding, fishing, seasonal shooting, golf and fresh sea food. Extraordinary expansive views looking out over the Irish sea onto two sets of islands ;the Saltees and the Kierachs. A large lovingly tended garden with an orchard, a bamboo garden, and a granite stone circle. For music lovers the Wexford Opera festival is every October.
A wide selection of bird life surrounds the property puffins are but one example of birds which you can see around the property.
Local fisherman can supply excuisite freshly cooked lobster and crabs, Bannow oysters also available. Local farmer´s daughter available for Babysitting.
