Sleeps 2. I Bedroom cottage Kittiwake, a luxurious little house with fabulous views over the harbour towards Mount's Bay and St Michaels Mount, a garden with a view and its very own summer house.
You can't miss the house, walk up the lane to the little terrace and spot the stained glass window sporting a Kittiwake (seagull) hence the name. Through the front door and into the sitting room with a huge open inglenook granite fireplace and a log burning stove. The ceilings, whilst sporting the original beams, are a good two feet higher than most properties in the village. Together with the town house sized sash windows and stunning views of the bay it's the height in the rooms which really gives Kittiwake 'house' stature. A fresh and airy mix of old and new ensures Kittiwake hasn't lost any of its charm. A contemporary sofa is perfect to curl up on and whether you light the log burner or not, the under floor heating of the black slate floor will make sure your toes never get cold.
Don't panic! The restored original Cornish range is for admiring only. The kitchen is bespoke and brand new with granite work surfaces. A Nespresso machine and selection of capsules are provided for your morning caffeine fix. The Dualit kettle and toaster sparkle in the corner, while the extendible breakfast table overlooked by an oversized contemporary clock is placed in just the right position to sit and still enjoy the sea views. Just outside the kitchen you will find a small utility area which houses the washing machine and other housekeeping things while the backdoor leads to the steps up to the garden and summerhouse.
Where else would you find a mix of criss-cross open beams, a fabulous view out over the harbour and beyond, a button-back linen headboard, an original fireplace and a turquoise French six-drawer chest? A very gentle ambience, the king sized bed with its luxurious duvet pillows and quality Egyptian cotton bedding, this room has a very special feel.
Distinctly Victorian in style, this bathroom has a real charm about it. Dual aspect, long windows and folding wooden shutters, the slipper bath and the separate power shower with oversized head. You can relax in the bath and enjoy views to the garden. The soft organic cotton towels and robes really add to the experience while the large cupboard with ample storage and hanging space will ensure there is room for everything. The loo is in a separate room adjacent to the bathroom and next to the bedroom.
To the rear of Kittiwake, steep winding steps lead up to the beautiful terraced garden full of alpine plants, whilst breath-taking views can be found from the beautiful summer house and terrace. Enjoy an evening BBQ, a spot of lunch or just chilling with a coffee and the Sunday papers. Views really are spectacular from your own private vantage point. Please note that the steps in the garden are steep and may not be suitable for anyone with impaired mobility.
Please be aware that parking is not available at Kittiwake. Traffic permitting it is usually possible to do a 'bag drop' at the bottom of Mount Pleasant Terrace and carry your bags up to the cottage. Please note the path that leads up to Kittiwake is steep and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. The owners of Kittiwake can arrange to reserve a parking space at the quayside car park just a few minutes walk away at a cost of £3.00 per day or just £15.00 for the week. Please let us know in advance.
Kittiwake is fully WiFi ready so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world you can. There is a TV and DVD player in the living room plus Loewe Bluetooth speaker system designed to link up with your phone or iPad so you can listen to your favourite music and radio stations plus there is a TV and DVD player in the bedroom.
Holiday periods are generally 7 nights starting on a Monday or Friday or short breaks of 3 night starting on a Friday or 4 nights starting on a Monday but please enquire if this doesn't suit. Kittiwake is a non-smoking property and does not accept dogs.

Mousehole has a picturesque harbour and is full of shops, cafes and pubs for you to explore. Close to superb beaches and coastal path walks it is a delightful place to visit. Down at this end of Cornwall everything is within a short drive including St. Ives, Land's End, and the Minack Theatre. Seahorse Cottage would make a lovely base for your holiday whatever the time of year, as the woodburning stove keeps it cosy. The Christmas Lights in December draw visitors from around the country, and during the rest of the year there are plenty of events to keep visitors amused.
