Large idyllic grade II listed Cornish cottage, featured in The Times and Cornwall Life magazine. Five bedrooms, three reception rooms, front and rear gardens, meadow, WIFI. Located in a quiet hamlet, close to the spectacular Atlantic coastline, Port Isaac's ancient fishing village, and Trebarwith Strand or Polzeath's surfing beaches.
Two real fires, granite fireplace, Aga. Pub 15 min walk. Ideal for surfers, walkers, golfers, families.
Sympathetically restored to a high standard, this gorgeous 16th century hideaway provides the perfect base from which to explore the treasures of the north Atlantic coast, from Rock and Polzeath, to Port Isaac, Trebarwith Strand and beyond. Set back from a quiet lane, the house is hidden from the hamlet's handful of cottages behind the delightful south-facing walled cottage garden, while a lovely rear lawn and a neighbouring secluded meadow offer plenty of room for kids to roam free while adults relax.
Inside the house are original slate floors and sea grass carpets, a cast-iron claw foot bath, solid French oak dining tables, thick firm mattresses with white 100% cotton bedlinen, vintage curtains and fabrics. The ancient thick stone walls come with sloping floorboards, oak beams, exposed stone walls, and window seats. Unwind by a wood burning stove in the large living room, or another set in a granite fireplace in the dining room. The snug has a cloam oven set into another inglenook. The double height kitchen has an Aga plus electric built-in oven, large fridge/freezer and two dishwashers; fully equipped.
The house is warm in winter as well as summer. Plenty of book, games and wifi. Parking for three cars.
A 15 minute walk takes you to the village of St Teath, with its fine local ales and good food, as well as a shop, church and old clock tower.
The house is ideally located for visits to Port Isaac, Padstow, or King Arthur's Tintagel Castle; walks along the coast paths or on the wilds of Bodmin moor; and family excursions further afield to The Blue Reef Aquarium or Eden Project. See below for more.

However you want to spend your leisure time while on holiday in Cornwall, the county pretty much has it covered (except maybe for skiing!). There are tourist attractions to suit all age groups from families to grandparents, and of every sort from beaches to stately homes and gardens to full throttle fun parks.
The activities you can do in Cornwall can be as genteel as walking or bird watching to the extremes of kite surfing and coasteering. There is every type of event from surf festivals to exhibitions to music festivals.
There are over 300 beaches to choose from. For centuries fishermen and even the odd pirate have reaped the benefit of the rugged coastline, which today is a haunt for people who surf, scuba dive, sail or just simply lie on the sand and watch the clouds drift by.
The beautiful beach at Trebarwith Strand is a 10 minute drive. Excellent surfing, rock pools and a pub on the top of the spectacular cliffs.
Polzeath beach is a 15 minute drive. Huge sandy beaches, ideal for surfing and sand castles.
Daymer Bay’s sand dunes - popular with young families.
Rock has great water sports facilities, including water skiing, sailing and canoeing.
This side of Padstow, there are other beaches at Crackington Haven, Lundy and Epphaven, as well as beaches at the end of cliff walks at Bossiney and Tregardock. Beaches south of Padstow include Trevone, Constantine, Treyarnon, Harlyn and Porthcothan. Enjoy exploring!
Port Isaac – tiny ancient fishing port, where Doc Martin is filmed and the Fisherman’s Friends singers are based.
Wadebridge - market town, including cinema, restaurants and galleries. Hire cycles from the start of the Camel Trail, and cycle to Padstow along the river.
Padstow – old fishing harbour, known for Rick Stein’s restaurants. Enjoy taking the foot ferry from Rock to Padstow for a quick hop across the estuary.
Walk from Camelford to the top of Rough Tor (one of the peaks of Bodmin Moor). On the slopes leading up to Rough Tor are stone circles which are the remains of a Bronze Age settlement. Four miles distant is Brown Willy, reaching 1,375ft and the highest point in Cornwall.
The South West coast path from any beach along the top of the cliffs is fantastic, and covers the whole of the Cornish coast.
The house is ideally located for visiting the Royal Cornwall show, the Camelford show, and the St Endellion music festival, among others.
