Free activity.Mini Beasts & MicroscopesDiscover the mini beasts that live in the undergrowth and under the logs and stones. In this session we collect up the wee beasties and then use microscopes to take a closer look. Did you know that worms do actually have a head end? Chargeable activity.Collecting EggsTwice a day we collect the eggs from our flock of chickens. Ever felt how warm an egg is when you take it from under a chicken? You'll be surprised! Free activity.Clay FacesAn activity everybody enjoys. Join us in decorating the trees with grotesque clay faces made from ground clay dug on site. Take a picture quickly as they get washed off after about a week in the rain. Chargeable activity.BoatingWe have a beautiful little rowing boat on the pond we leave for the wildlife (no introduced fish). We have a number of different size life jackets too just in case although the pond is only 4 feet deep. We do ask that all children are supervised by an adult at all times. Free Activity - Deposit required for life jackets. Pond DippingAlthough our ponds are originally man made in the '80s the wildlife has really moved in. Dip your net and see all the invertebrates that make the pond home. We empty our nets into shallow plastic trays with water in so that we can view the beasties up close and see what's what. Free activity.Dressing Up BoxFor Toddlers and Eddie Izzard alike, our dressing up box is sure to entertain. What will you be today? A princess? A farmer? How about a fairy? All garments are cleaned on a regular basis. Free activity.Meet the animalsA family holiday at Puddleduck Valley isn't complete without spending some time petting the animals here. You are sure to meet the our friendly moggies but we also have a rabbit, guinea pig, dogs and of course the goats and kids who always entertain. Designed for specific age groups, the treasure hunts are non chargeable. Just put the clues back please!Feed the fish - Coming SoonWe set aside one of our smaller ponds for some of our smaller and tamer fish. We don't allow fishing in this pond so that the fish become more tame and guests can feed the fish with fish food pellets. A small charge is made for the fish food.CatapultsOn the odd occasion we use one of our barns as a catapult range using soft clay as balls. Closely supervised, this activity is arranged on an ad hoc basis and a firm favourite with the boys, tom-boys, and Bart Simpson wannabes. Please note that anyone who fails to obey the instructor will be asked to leave the range immediately.PuppetsJoin Melanie for an hour or two of puppet making with the bonus of taking your creations home to wow your friends and family. In the late evenings of summer we often start up a camp fire and supply the sausages and marshmallows. This event also often seems to include some impromptu singing. (Participation is not obligatory!). Chargeable event.Star GazingIf you live in the city you will be gobsmacked by how bright the stars shine in Devon. We often bring out the telescope to gaze at the more easily identifiable stars, planets and constellations. We're not experts but enjoy this activity as much as our guests.
