COMPLEMENTARY CASE OF WINE UPON ARRIVAL!!!Situated in the heart of Eymet in the Dordogne, just 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, this wonderful property is the perfect base from which to explore the local area. Eymet surrounds a medieval market square which hosts a number of bars and restaurants along with all you need on holiday - boulangeries (bakers), supermarkets, chemist and a wealth of antique shops etc. There are colourful weekly markets on a Thursday morning and night markets on a Tuesday during the months of July & August. The town is steeped in history - look out for La Maison d'Amour, a great creperie (restaurant) where Henri IV was supposed to sit and write letters to his mistress! The chateau has a small exhibit of ancient coins and arts. Look out for the Medieval festival which takes place in August.Just a stone's throw from the main square of Eymet in the Dordogne you will find Maison Lavandier; French eccentricity at its best - Italian influences, Gothic and Art deco! Dating back to the turn of the last century, the house was apparently built by an architect for his new bride accounting for all her tastes. The house was purchased by its current owners along with some amazing original furniture and features - yet brought to date with the installation of a Jacuzzi and Wi-Fi and UK TV (SKY Freeview)! There is an open air pool in Eymet for those who would like to take a dip!
