As the largest Balearic island, Mallorca is also the most varied with stunning coastlines, mountains, wetlands, old walled cities and interesting unspoilt villages. An all year round mild and sunny climate, with frequent cool breezes in summer and beautiful clear days when it's already cold and wet in the rest of Europe.
The island was an early arrival on the tourism scene but has remained a favourite to new generations as its natural riches need no re-inventing.
Cala d'Or has lots of small beaches, some of them judged 'best in the world' and there is a lot of fun in seeking them all out. There are boat trips to see the gorgeous coastline, there is horse riding, diving, golf, tennis all on the doorstep and the island's water and theme parks a drive away.
The busiest season is June to September but come at any time to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful surroundings. Determinedly 'low rise' since its inception, Cala d'Or is an exceptionally attractive place offering family fun without the 'tackiness' of some mass destinations. Great restaurants in the area.
