The Midi-Pyrénées region

The Aveyron is a beautiful region, with lots of ancient villages, rivers, gorges and lakes.

The summer months are generally hot and sunny, where local producers of food and wine gather in surrounding villages for " marche de nuits", and locals and tourists can mingle to eat and drink. Villefranche de Rouerge and Figeac, both beautiful riverside towns, hold large weekly markets on Thursday and Saturday respectively, with excellent produce etc..
