Ancient Oaks is a very large gite run by experienced holiday let owners since 2011. As owners we pay an annual subscription with Holiday lettings, this ensures that our guests do not pay any booking fees or any additional fees to that quoted, we are fully insured, registered and gite inspected in France. Our aim is for guests to have a great holiday where they can have direct communication with the owners.Our gite has been completely renovated from top to bottom and has now been let since the Summer of 2013. Discounts are available for early bookings, or smaller groups. Specifically designed for family holidays or large groups, it has a 11.5m x 5.5m (31ft x 15ft), open plan lounge/kitchen/diner where the whole family can gather to party indoors or outside in the large eating and BBQ area. Inside the gite the open plan kitchen has a large american style fridge/freezer and large cooking range which is great for catering for large groups. There is additional seating areas in the mezzanine for those who want to sit, read a book and enjoy the peace and quiet. There are 4 bedrooms of which 2 are family rooms sleeping up to 4 people each, plus 2 additional bedrooms of which 1 is situated on the ground floor.There is 5000 square metres (nearly an acre) of private garden with terrace,swimming pool( Heated and open May to September), lawns with boules pitch and table tennis plus a large open area for ball games.Owners live next to the gite in a separate cottage and gardens, maintaining the pool daily and are there to help with any of the guests needs, but we also ensure that guests have privacy and can enjoy their holiday without interuption. The gite, pool and gardens are private and are for the sole use of guests, there are no sharing of facilities, garden or swimming pool. The pool is heated, fully enclosed and alarmed, with seating and sun loungers. ( Pool is cleaned and maintained daily )We do not make additional charges for the heating of the pool.The open barn area is for outside eating with table and seating for 12 people and includes a large gas BBQ, wine/beer fridge and lighting for late night meals,. this area is great for eating alfresco and enjoying the warm night air and the fantastic night sky. The main entrance to the gite is reached across a decked terrace, where you enter the property through a magnificent 20 foot high mezzanine hallway. With 2 family bathrooms and 1 en suite to master bedroom.There are 3 double beds, bunk beds and 2 single beds plus a full size cot.1 bedroom and 1 bathroom are situated on the ground floor and 3 further bedrooms on the first floor, with 1 en suite and 1 family bathroom.There is also parking for 3 cars in the main car park, and the garden is fully enclosed, guests have sole use of parking area and garden.

Situated in the lower part of the Loire valley which is famous for its beautiful country villages, vineyards and Chateaux, rivers and lakes.Ancient Oaks is situated in St. Saturnin in the Centre- Val de Loire region and close to the borders of Indre, Creuse, and Allier all offering many places of interest to visit. The local food specialities are goats cheese, fois gras and of course wine.This is an area full of rolling landscapes, beautiful scenery and empty roads. Ideal for cycling holidays and the local tourist office hire out excellent bikes (daily or weekly) for a very affordable price. Drive or cycle to local Chateaux, restaurants and take the local route des Vignobles after a good breakfast and on return to Ancient Oaks and have a dip in the pool. New to the area is one of Europes largest tree top and zip line adventure centers, situated at Sidialles is the large reservoir where swimming and water activities take place throughout the late spring/summer period. Sidialles is 5 miles from ancient Oaks and a popular destination for all of our guests. The region has a wealth of beautiful scenery, Chateaux to visit and charming historical towns and villages. Wildlife with birds of prey are in abundance and are often to be seen in our garden. Ideal for those who want to come up close to the birds as they sit on electricity posts and low branches, with deer often crossing your path while cycling or walking.
Ancient Oaks is just 14 km from the Chateau town of Culan which claims to be the "Heart of France"; its geographical centre. The area is traditional, unspoilt, French countryside with rolling hills, green valleys and the top quality AOC vineyard.The vineyards are famous for their Chateaumeillant gris (Rose) and rich reds. For further wine exploration, we recommend taking the Route des Vignobles which is a local tour of the vineyards that make up the Chateaumeillant wines.Meander from vineyard to vineyard and visit the many farms en route producing their own goats cheese as a perfect accompaniment to the famous gris wine.The countryside is a birdwatchers paradise with a stunning variety of birds of prey including hen harrier, montegus harrier, black and red kites and dozens more.There is also an abundance of songbirds and water fowl.The local lanes are popular with walkers and cyclists and there are golf, tennis and water sports available nearby.For messing about in (hire) boats and to visit the Roman Amphitheatre visit Drevant; 41kmFor the famous Jacques Tati film museum visit Saint Severe ;14km
