Situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with a rich mining history, St Agnes is an interesting, thriving and bustling community. The village itself is home to many local businesses, independently owned shops and award winning pubs and restaurants, all of which are well worth a visit. The family friendly beaches are great for rock pooling and paddling and fantastic for surfing. There is direct access to miles and miles of coastal paths from the local beach at Trevaunance Cove and the scenery is absolutely stunning. There is always something happening in the village - carnivals, live music, food festivals and more. There are outdoor activities for everyone - horse riding, cycling, surfing, walking, kayaking and coasteering. Our cottage is situated right in the heart of the activity just a ten minute walk from both beach and shops and only a 2 minute walk from a fantastic pub and restaurant.
In addition to the beach at Trevaunance Cove, we are less than a ten minute drive from the huge, sandy beach at Perranporth and the gorgeous National Trust beach at Chapel Porth. Further afield are the popular coastal resorts of Newquay and St Ives and a ten minute drive inland takes you to the bustling city of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and many shops.
St Agnes is only a ten minute drive from the A30 which makes it a perfect base from which to explore Cornwall. There are many attractions within an hours drive from the cottage including The Eden Project, Gardens of Heligan, Tate St Ives and many pretty south coast villages such as St Mawes and Falmouth. There are numerous activities to keep the children entertained too including Newquay Zoo, Dairyland and the Oasis Fun Pool.
