We have recently changed the name of the villa from Les Trois Oliviers to La Maison Alex. This is a very comfortable villa, ideal for a relaxing break for families or groups of friends.

It has great private outside space, walled on all sides with a pool where you can soak up the sun in complete privacy. There is a patio dining area with a gas and charcoal BBQ and a covered rear terrace for alfresco dining in the shade.

The front of the villa overlooks the Herault valley and there are superb views of the vineyards in the valley and the Black Mountains in the distance.

The rear of the villa overlooks an olive grove.

If your idea of a good holiday is sitting around the pool in the sun sipping cold drinks you will be undisturbed by passers by and out of sight.

We have recently added a private outdoor hot tub (sometimes called a spa) to add to your relaxation options. This is a great way to finish off the day after sun down with a glass of wine and the tempertaure set to cool on a hot day or warm on a cool evening.

Indoors, the kitchen has had a complete refurbishment recently with new units, work surfaces and appliances. Some of the other rooms have also had a recent make-over.

There is flat screen TV with English freesat channels and French TNT channels, video recorder and DVD player. Wifi is available throughout.

The facilities are modern and there is everything you will need to make this your home from home. More information is available on our own website.

The Occitanie region

The villa is in a village called Castelnau-de-Guers which is a picturesque medieval hilltop village dating back to the 11th century. The villa sits on the edge of the village but the facilities in the village are only a 5-10min walk.

Pézenas is a much more lively town with many restaurants and shops and is only a 5 min drive away. It has a lot of historical interest being famous as the home of the 17th century author Moliére. In the evenings it is has great atmosphere and on Saturdays the town is taken over by the weekly market with local produce a speciality.

Castelnau de Guers

'La Maison Alex' nestles on the outskirts of Castelnau de Guers: the village has a bar/restaurant, post office, boulangerie, grocer and tabac. It's renowned for 'La Circuit St Antoine' a 10km walk which explores the village and surroundings with stunning views of vineyards and mountains.

Castelnau is a short drive to the beaches the nearest being Marseillan Plage. Cap d'Agde, has 14km of beaches and has restaurants actually located on the beach, It is only a 20 mins drive away and has theme parks such as 'Aqualand' sports park.

A short journey north takes you to mountains, lakes and gorges. Lake Salagou is renowned for fresh water swimming and Gorge d'Heric ideal for abseiling, hiking and canoeing. Culture and history are catered for in the nearby towns of Pezenas, Montpellier, Carcassone, Narbonne and Beziers.

The area is famous for its wine. The village has 3 domains where you can taste wine but the whole area is famous for wine and tasting before you buy is very common. The wines of the Languedoc region are known to be great value - a good bottle of local wine can cost less than 5€.

The area is also famous for seafood and there are many seafood restaurants. Oysters and mussels are farmed locally and the local Picpoul wine has been developed specifically to compliment seafood.
