The Cliff house consists out of 2 houses made into one. That is why the house is very spacious and has different levels. The house is made out of stone and has thick walls, making it cool in the summer and warm in the winter with 2 fire places. That's why this house is also very suitable as a winter escape for winter rent. The house has place for a big family and also various couples have spent some great summer holidays in the house which can almost be called a villa according to the size. Outside one can easily take the food from the kitchen and grill on the built in bbq in the courtyard, while having long conversations on the big dining table. The sala (living room) has the beautiful famous chochlakia: a floor made of white and black (sometimes a few red) pebbles that are selected from the beach, and are laid into a beautiful mosaic one by one, making it one of the most expensive floors that one can nowadays have. This is a true newly and heavenly experience as these cool pointy stones tickle you under the feet and acts as acupuncture under the foot soles. The couches are the typical Greek wooden couches that are many times displayed on postcards. The kitchen is next to the sala and has a dining area as well. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything that one has normally in a living house. The bathroom is a big one, with a nice bath with a shower in it, as is usual for a Greek house. From the hallway we get into the bedroom downstairs which has a high sleeper on a wooden platform high above reachable through a steady stairs. On the ground it has a single bed which altogether makes this bedroom into a triple bedroom. Going up the stairs in the hall, one reaches another hall that serves as an office which can easily sit 3 people for working on the laptop. Another small stairs brings us to the second bedroom with a double bed and air conditioning inside. Next to this bedroom is firstly a walk in closet and next to this the master bedroom, which is a very large bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a fire place. There is also a balcony at the master bedroom which overlooks the whole valley with fantastic views. Going to the office space again, there is a door that leads to the outside spaces with seating and pillows and again with a spectacular view. One stairs up (outside) one comes on the roof terraces with sun loungers. Altogether all the ingredients to make your holiday a memorable one, and to not forget this holiday home very lightly.

Koskinou village exists of 2 parts: the old village/town, and around it the new area. As our interest with renting, and in general, only goes out to traditional, authentic places, we only speak about the old part in this website. In the old part (which is a village of its own), the houses date back to the 17th,18th and 19th century. Like in many places in Greece about 40 years ago people started abandoning their old stone family houses, to move into modern cement buildings out of the village centers or creating new centers. The houses then became ruins and were rediscovered and bought in their original state by foreigners, Greeks from Athens and some times local Greeks. They renovated these beautiful houses and recently all kinds of committees are being formed to keep or bring back the houses in the authentic state. Typical for the village is the sala (living room) with a big stone arch (Kamarra) through the middle to make a semi separation. Another thing that is typical are the chochlakia, floors in which pebbles (found on the beach) are laid, stone by stone into a typical, magnificent mosaic floor. These floors nowadays cost a fortune to produce. Again a typical thing of the houses in Koskinou is that they have wooden sofas in the sala, high raised platforms, on which one or 2 mattresses were laid, for sleeping or where they used to drink tea. The last typical thing for Kosknou are the courtyards surrounded by high walls for total privacy and closed off by iron handmade doors with a beautiful design in it.
The streets of Koskinou are covered by chochlakia (pebbles), tiles and marble. There are some small springs at the edges of the old village and there is a museum somewhere in the middle, where one can see how the people used to live and how the houses looked like in the older days: well worth a visit.
The cliff house is located on a quiet spot in the old village of Koskinou. More exactly: at the edge of the old village. It overlooks the whole valley of Koskinou and beyond from all the terraces, and the house. Koskinou is a 10-15 minutes drive away from Rhodes Old Town. The holiday home does not have any direct neighbors, but has some partly neighboring houses. The feeling of location that one gets while staying in this house is a solitary one with wide views.
