This charming one bedroomed Victorian cottage lies within five minutes walk from the centre of Hay. Ty Bychan is ideal for anyone seeking a relaxing week/weekend exploring the town and its local eating houses, cafes or for those seeking a more active time using it as a base to explore the mountains and rivers. Ty Bychan (little house) has recently been upgraded to a high standard with a lounge with wood burning stove for those cosy nights in, a basket full of wood and scuttle of coal provided. Upstairs bedroom has a comfortable king size bed. Outside there is a small partially covered courtyard where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via steep narrow steps on a shared pathway leading to a small garden with seating for a restful BBQ evening. Hay on Wye has many amenities including eating houses, cafes pubs, and of course the renowned book shops. The surrounding countryside boasts an area of outstanding beauty offering many outdoor activity opportunities such as canoeing on the River Wye, cycling on the tracks and lanes, mountain biking and walking in the Black mountains and the Brecon Beacons (the owners would gladly advise on any of these pursuits). Either way Ty Bychan will provide you with a warm comfortable environment in which to enjoy stay.

No dogs.

I no longer allow pets, unfortunately some previous guests did not comply with my requests when their dog stayed. We have a dog and would love to welcome them but the cleanliness of the cottage for future guests is priority.

Please note I do not provide any milk. There is a Spar in the High Street if you forget any provisions. This stays open until 10pm.
