With 150 kilometres of coastline and acres of countryside, there are thousands of things to do in Sussex when staying at Blue View Apartment Brighton, whether you're a thrill-seeker, a shop-aholic, a nature lover or a foodie - and since you're never more than an hour from London, the capital's delights can play a part in your stay here.

A note from Owners 'Aileen & Chris'...We love Brighton. We find it the perfect place for a holiday or weekend break away from the stresses and strains of modern life. We know you will too.Whether your visit is a special celebration, a chance to party or simply to chill out, the city known as “London by the Sea” is the perfect spot. There is so much for you to see and do. We often pop down to savour Brighton's eclectic mix of activities and venues. Here are some of our favourite haunts and outings for you to select from. At the Theatre Royal you can catch a new play or show with major stars before it moves to London's West End. Take a drink beforehand in the Victorian pub nestled next to the entrance and enjoy the pre-theatre banter with the locals. A tip: Once the performance starts, the bar thins out and you may even get a seat if you are not going to the theatre! For more alternative music and comedy, we go to the popular Komedia Club just five minutes away where both up and coming and established artists take to the intimate stage. You can book dinner there, too, and watch the show as you eat. Food here is cheap and cheerful, but very tasty. There are so many pubs and restaurants in Brighton that you will be spoilt for choice. However, many of our personal favourites are in St James's Street – just around the corner from BlueView. In winter, the Royal Oak pub serves a decent pint and does great bar food if you do not fancy walking too far.For a more lively evening, you could try the Ranelagh pub a few yards away. It has regular music nights featuring good quality rock and pop bands. It's great fun and the locals will make you very welcome. For more stylish drinking there is Drakes just round the corner from BlueView -- delightful for a very special occasion , or just to spoil yourselves! One of the best things we love is to stroll along the promenade and the beach. You are just a few of minutes' walk away from the famous Victorian Brighton Pier. We always feel invigorated after breathing in the sea air -- and it costs us nothing! One of the special and amazing sights just before dusk in late autumn and winter is the migrating starlings swirling over the pier in their thousands as they come in to roost– an awesome sight, not to be missed. We recommend the traffic-free lower 'prom' for jogging and cycling. If you are leisure cyclists like us you will enjoy a round trip to nearby quaint and delightful Rottingdean village where you can stop for a traditional English afternoon tea. It takes less than an hour there and back as you pedal past glorious views of the English Channel and the Sussex Downs. You will adore the Brighton shopping experience. Our favourite haunt is The Laines with its mixture of shops selling everything from modern fashion to retro clothing and jewellers offering high-end or more Bohemian items.Once you are “shopped out,” enjoy a pint of tasty Sussex ale or, perhaps a cocktail or “G & T” in the bar of the famous Grand Hotel – where you will be greeted by a bowler-hatted doorman. You may, though, hanker for the tranquility of BlueView. Enjoy a sundowner on the balcony overlooking the sea followed by a home-cooked dinner -- a great way to wind down. After a comfortable night's sleep, you will be ready for another day beside the seaside. There's so much to see and do, we're sure we will be welcoming you back to BlueView again and again!Wherever you come from, you will find Brighton a unique experience.Enjoy!Best wishes,Aileen and Chris
