Nathon is 2 kilometres away, the Island's Capital, which successfully retails a very local feel, so sadly lost in Chaweng, with a wealth of tourist delights to shop for- where haggling is the accepted practice, meat, fish and fruit markets, supermarkets, convenience stores, cafe's, banks, a lively evening cooked food market and a Saturday evening Walking Street market most weeks. The weekly market is great, selling local home produce, local wine, many Thai food treats- even deep fried insects!
The immediate area provides views of hillsides full of coconut palms, oceanscapes with the National Park Islands in the distance and a panoramic view of Nathon Ferry Port, all visible from the villa that is set within a secluded and rural environment.
What originally attracted us to this particular area of Samui was the simply astounding views that provide an ever changing canvas that has an immediate calming effect on the soul. Set at a height of 80 metres yet only a few hundred metres from the shoreline where there are some lovely Thai beach restaurants, literally at the waters edge.
