Wifi throughout our property the cheery Studio sleeeps 2 people and is located on upstairs floor, of les Rosiers Lettings/B&B (owners live onsite) Studio has a private entrance/staircase /terrace outside seating-dining table. Double bed, open plan with kitchenette, consisting of toaster oven, 2 ring burner, microwave, kettle, small fridge, table and 4 chairs, crockery and cutlery., bodum or a Nespresso machine. Linens towels provided. All Accomodation has en-suite shower room, studio has, ie:toilet, handbasin, bathtub/shower. From May-Oct you have use of indoor heated swimming pool, shared with owners. Laundry facilities available, fee may be charged. Studio, the 1 bed Apartment and Chambres d'hotes (B&B) available to rent all year round.

Les Rosiers is in Les Bories, a small working walnut farm hamlet. 2mins walk to the Vezere river.

The little village of Thonac with its well stocked shop, restaurant and bar, is 4 k away.

The charming market town of Montignac and the famous Lascaux caves are just a 5 minute drive to the north, and the pre-historic troglodyte fortress of La Roque Saint-Christophe a ten minute drive to the South.

You will be spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. The medieval town of Sarlat; Les Eyzies, home to the National Museum of Pre-History; and several of the Plus Beaux Villages de France including St Leon sur Vézère, Beynac, Castelnaud, and Domme, are within a twenty mile radius of the house.

Other wonderful attractions in the immediate area include pre-historic parks and caves; chateaux and gardens; and magnificent castles dating back to the Hundred Years War.

The many and varied activities on the doorstep include canoeing, horse-riding, walking, cycling and paragliding.

There are also many attractions such as an aquarium, a treetop adventure park and a heritage theme park. To name them all would need a book - the list is endless....!

Those looking to experience the gastronomic delights of the region will find a nearby market on every day of the week offering the very best that local producers have to offer. There are many opportunities to sample the fine foods and wine that this area is famous for.

The Dordogne region

Les Rosiers is situated in the heart of The Vezere Valley. In the small hamlet of Les Bories overlooking the east banks of The Vezere River and the beautiful Chateau de Losse. Nestled between the characteristic town of Montignac (4k) and small village of Valojoulx (2k) we are just off the D65 rd, 4k south of Montignac. Our hamlet has two working farms and just 10 homes, we are surrounded by walnut trees, neighbour makes and sells delicious walnut oil. Wifi is avaiable throughout les Rosiers. The indoor heated saltwater pool is open May-October and is inside a retired tobacco drying barn. We have 2 bikes for your use, linens, towels and toiletries provided.

Valojoulx

The charming market town of Montignac sur Vezere and the famous Lascaux caves /New Lascaux IV centre are just a 5 minute drive to the north, and the pre-historic troglodyte fortress of La Roque Saint-Christophe a ten minute drive to the South. Next door to that is the amazing Maison de forte Reignac, open to visitors all year round. Chateau de Losse, across the river from here, open May -sept. You will be spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. There is also a larger famous market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in Sarlat, 25 mins drive. There are many opportunities to sample the fine foods and wine that this area is famous for...June to end of August there are the Marche Gourmands /Night markets food music, in local villages. Food, wine dancing. Personal favourites are Valojoulx on a Friday night, 2k away, start around 6:30pm. Saint Leon sur Vezere, Thursday nights (dancing here) and Saint Amand du Coly Tuesday nights.

Also the fabulous annual music festival in Montignac June 21st. Also in July.

Dining:

The little village of Thonac with its well stocked shop, restaurant and bar, is less than a mile away., also close by are fine dining restaurants, eg: Le 4 in Montignac, or wonderful family run Auberges, Le Bareil, or Chez Jenine, 5 mins away. Where you can linger over a 6 course Perigordine/Duck lunch, wine included for 25€ per head. Or just have le plate du jour for 13-15€, aoio and wine always included. Endless sini g experiences in pur wonderful villages and towns.
